paying for room

hi we booked a room for next week for RPH over internet from scotland using our credit card, could someone tell if your card gets charged when you check in or if its before you get there.I booked a few days ago and my card hasnt been charged yet. thanks

procedure is to book one night stay as the deposit.

that can be a hit or miss.

some post they paid it some say no charge in advance.


you pay the bill when you check OUT of the hotel.

if you are not charged for the one night in advance in about a week, don't worry.

you have your confirmation number and a room will be held for you

I booked an extra room at the Hard Rock, it took a couple of days or so for the deposit to be taken from my credit card. The rest will be paid at the hotel.

I have book numerous times, they are meant to that a deposit of the first night (including tax), but this appear to happen about 25% of the time, it happened last time made the booking (for this sept), but had not happened for the 3 bookings before that. As someone said, it is a bit haphazard.
