I think they like to change things and not really give much information prior to the change going live. There HAVE been many, many changes in 2005, but after the complete overhaul with Magic Your Way the changes haven't really involved anything that would require a major behavior change from guests other than learning the new booking windows. To expect people to pay for Fast Passes is one thing. To expect them to change their resort habits is something entirely different. I can see keeping the current system but making it an option, not a given. On the other hand, how mad would you be if you PAID for Fast Pass and the machines were empty every time you tried to get one? Customer satisfaction vs. profitability has to be an ugly struggle!
I still don't think we need to get our knickers in a knot just yet. Birnbaum's makes mistakes, and Disney changes their mind all the time. Even if they have several scenarios on the table it doesn't mean that changes will be implemented in 2006.
