Paying for dinner with a Disney gift card?

We are leaving for our trip in 69 days! During our trip, its my parents anniversary and my sister and I were planning on surprising them with a dinner reservation and paid meal from us. Theres a couple ways we were thinking about paying for their meal: just give them cash in a card (not my idea), ask the hostess if I can pay for their meal as a surprise so when they expect a bill it will already be paid for (my idea), and now I just thought of giving them a Disney gift card inside a anniversary card....just in case I cant pay for their meal as described above. Does anybody know If you can "pay" with a gift card?

Can also use Disney Dollars as far as I know which my kids always love using when we go to Disney.

Yep, we pay for most of our meals that way. If you go to disneygiftcard(dot)com you can pick from tons different kinds and even get ones you can personalize with your own picture (for an extra cost) and they offer free shipping. I think there is one that says "happily ever after".
