We just added on and got our box of materials today. Regarding payment, can you pay with a credit card? It's after hours so too late to call our guide, and I figured someone here would know the answer.

Thank you1 Might as wel get some reward points in the process.

Rewards points are the reason many folks pay by credit card in the first place.

We know a couple who did that. They had the cash to buy it, but they put it on their Disney VISA. When the bill came, they paid it off in full, but got the rewards points.

We are in Canada and have an Aerogold Visa. We had the cash but we still paid by credit card just for the points. As a result, we got enough points for a return airfare anywhere in North America

What you might want to do (unless of course you'll have all the cash by the time the credit card bill comes due) is buy it with a credit card for the points, and then pay it off with a home equity loan, the interest of which is most likely deductible (as always, consult a tax pro)

Hi I just 1/22 put deposit for add on on Disney credit card to get points and as of yet they haven't posted the rest of the cost to the credit card just the downpayment. How long does that take. Should I call my guide. There was a paper in with all the other papers about mailing in a check but that box wasn't checked just the one about dues being deducted monthly. Thanks if anyone can help. You need to call your guide and give authorization to charge the balance.

There is an advantage using Disney Financing if you are plan to use Home Equity, especially for those who are planning to buy a house or car before you pay off amount that you used to purchase DVC using Home Equity.

Although DVC loan rate is a bit high but not much, about 2% (of course if you use line of credit, it may be lower but you are paying only interest unless you pay more than minimum).

Anyway, the main thing is that DVC financing won't show up on your credit report unless you default it. So this will make a bit easier to get mortgage and car loan.

We had a card with 0% intereast so we used that to pay.

Thanks for your comments.

Actually we have the money so it was a choice of paqying cash, or putting it on a card and then paying that. We don't carry a credit card balances. We don't need financing, thankfully.

We put ours on our mileage card and then transferred the balance over to a really low interest card and HELOC. We did not have cash for the entire purchase. We got a free airline ticket out of the deal!

We use our Disney Visa to purchase.

My plan is to pay the amount with my Starwood Amex, which allows me to get points to stay at their hotels, and with my Southwest Visa, to get closer to a free flight. One of the main reasons for getting DVC points from Disney directly is so I can charge it on my credit card. I do have the cash to pay it off, but the extra rewards from using the credit cards sure are nice!
