Hi,
Did you all notice a change in the newsletter. It now states we will have to pay to do the rideathon this weekend to get the track

So hop on Space Mountain this weekend and ride to win (...hope you don't mind if it cost a few credits, but it's a small price to pay to get the pieces before they're officially released)! Now are you itching to see some of those tracks?...

What's up with that!

I don't know about you, but I'll wait for them to come to stores...

man that stinks, i also read the original im going to pay contact us a litttle visit...

I'd rather save my credits for the pieces in the future.

But what if it's like the Waterslide pieces? You could only get the uphill and downhill pieces at the Slide-a-thon Event (or trade for them later). They never went on sale.

It says that you get them before their officially RELEASED. Which means that they are gonna release them.

I'd say they're doing this to limit how many tracks people get in the ride-a-thon. It might also keep the lines down if people are waiting to just buy the pieces.

If is costs me a few credits and I do not need to buy one full price then that is a sale and I hearts sales. So I do not mind paying to ride and get pieces.

I think paying for stuff is a good way to control crowds. I wish they would do something about haunted mansion. On sunday I played say 20 games no lie at least 10 of those the player left.

I guess it just really depends on how much you're going to have to pay to ride --- 20 credits? 200 credits? More? Individual ride pieces cost about 400 a piece usually.

Belle, not saying this is what happened to you, but I never play with strangers, so I can trust that my opponents aren't leaving the game on purpose (after all, we'll stay and scrounge for the 100 credits even when people do leave lol --- it's good practice to avoid ghosts :lmao: ). But I'd say half my games have been dead games because Mansion has been notorious lately with the lagging, crashing and worse of all --- booting you back to the lobby mid-game! I feel so bad when my person is the one who does it. :guilty:

My first thought was to keep people from spending all day getting 1000 pieces for themselves for nothing.

I think of it as a sale, too. Cheaper than buying when they hit the stores.

I'm guessing the ride-a-thon pieces will be cheaper than the sale price so I'm looking at this as a sale for now. The other benefit of doing the ride-a-thon is to get some ideas of neat track layouts and possibly some sneak peeks at items that will be released during the month. That would be enough to convince me to ride a few times for a small fee.

I'm guessing charging some credits is a compromise between only allowing one piece per player per day or allowing one character to collect as many pieces as possible just because they are free in an attempt to make the lines more efficient. For what it's worth, I'm one of those people who rode the waterslides a gazillion times for the slide pieces because they were free, but I never used them. My intent was to give them to people who missed the event but someone had a tantrum and now they can't be traded.

How are we going to be paying to do the ride-a-thon? Do they just deduct credits from our coffers? :confused3

I am sure it will be set like a trigger just like that use to give you prizes without trading or using a Quest Kiosk. When you are about to exit the room they give you the Space Mountain Ride Piece(s) and then deduct the amount of credits the same exact way :)

My guess is this is some sort of way to attempt to keep the ride pieces from showing up on ebay 10 minutes after the rideathon starts. It beats making them untradeable! I have a gazillion up and down ride pieces that i put on my husband's character to save load time on my character, and when i wanted to build my halloween ride, I had to trade for up and down codes! meanwhile, I literally have about 50 of each on his character!

If we have to pay for it, then we shouldn't have to wait in 100 people queues.
I'm sending in another email to the black hole.

They ended up lying about that because you could get the up and down piece in mnay different host games later.

Did it stop people from leaving pirates?

NO!!!

Well I just hope they do not have another "snit fit" because I am stuck with so many up and down slide pieces! :rotfl2:

Hey, everyone you can all wait to get the ride pieces when they go on sale. It will make the lines shorter for me ;)
