DCL has moved our PIF date to 60 days prior to the cruise. We are 50/50 on going. We are platinum and know we need to PIF before we book Palo and excursions during our booking window. Has anyone paid in full, booked excursions, and then canceled before the 60 days prior and gotten a full refund? All credit card charges, no cruise credits.

Thanks for your input!

We paid in full because we were Gold and wanted to book in our window and then a FL resident discount went into effect for our cruise at day 75 and since the 60 day window was effect they modified it and refunded me $4000k. It took a week to get it posted to my CC. I definitely think they will refund as long as it’s before the 60 day window. There’s also the 14 day window before the cruise where if you are covid exposed they refund no questions asked.

Yes, we paid in full for the Honolulu to Vancouver cruise, booked excursions and Palo, etc. back in late December so we were ready at our Platinum excursion day. Canceled that cruise last week, and expect refunds to post sometime in the next week.

We are still planning to sail the Vancouver to Honolulu leg, but have booked 5 nights at Aulani in place of the return cruise to Vancouver.

off topic, thank you for posting your refund timeline. I canceled on Monday this week and have been waiting for the refund to appear. It’s day 4. In the past it’s only been a few days. I want to rebook, but need to use that credit towards the new cruise. Your post gives me hope that it might come sooner than later. I used two different cc, so watching them both.

To add to my own post: refunds posted to my credit card overnight. One week to the day after we canceled.

They moved the payment date to 30 days. Not a good sign in my opinion.

Yes, just received that email for our Vancouver to Honolulu booking. Our 60-day PIF date for that cruise was supposed to be at the end of next week, although we paid earlier so we could book our excursions and onboard activities. It also included the Magic sailings from the EBTA through initial Med. Cruises in May. I‘m thinking they must be getting a lot of questions about the port and onboard “rules” for these sailings, and they don’t have firm answers. Allow passengers to delay payment (or request full refunds if already PIF) up to the 30-day mark avoids having them announce the way things will work until later, essentially pushing things down the road another 30 days. I’m glad our flights and hotels are fully refundable, even though that meant paying a premium for the flight bookings.

Also if they cancel them before people pay in full they don’t have to offer guests anything.

I wonder if they still have to figure out protocols for cruises leaving from international ports.
