ever get to appear in movies and on television?

The ONLY thing I can think of is that they must have an uncle who works in show-biz who pulled some strings for them.

TBS was showing movies this past weekend starring these two "gems". I can't believe anyone would actually seek these guys out and pay them good money to "star" in one of their movies. They are funny NOT.

And even more amazing to me: What in the world does Heather Locklear see in David Spade????

I think David Spade is funny :thumbsup2

Pauly Shore...UGH! :sad2:

To each his own. I like David Spade's dry, sarcastic humour. I thought he was great on SNL.

Pauly Shore is Mitzi Shore's son. She founded/owns The Comedy Store in LA, his dad was a comic who at one time opened for Elvis Presley.

David Spade has a history of dating actresses known for their beauty - Lara Flynn Boyle, Kristy Swanson & now Heather Locklear. He's the brother-in-law to Kate Spade, the handbag designer.

None of the facts above can quite explain why these two gentlemen are/were successes in show business. If I knew exactly why some "make it" & some don't?...I'd bottle that knowledge and make a fortune!
Whatever one might think of these two's talent, they at least have to be hard-working. Nobody makes any kind of a lasting splash in Hollywood without some kind of business savvy & work ethic.

I don't quite get Mr. Shore's appeal, but David Spade has some of the best comic timing I have ever seen, reminds me of another Jack Benny. Those ads he does for Capital One, with "the trainee"(younger, blond, slightly heavy, also does other TV commericals including Enterprise Car & Volkwagen)...incredible.

agnes!

Spade can thank Chris Farley for his start. Liked them in Black Sheep and Tommy Boy.

Pauly Shore ???? not sure how he got successful.

I agree :thumbsup2. Paulie Shore on the other hand..... Oh well...

I think they got their starts as comedians. Comedians are all different looks, shapes, ugly, goodlooking. So once they got their names out there as a funny person, then they are desirable for their funniness in movies and all. I've never liked David Spade, ick. Pauly Shore has had some funny but totally off the wall movies... IMO

I kind of liked Pauly Shore. Every time "Son in Law" is on, I watch it. :happytv: Lovin' the new smilies. :)

I didn't really care for David Spade much until I watched The Emperor's New Groove. But I absolutely love that movie (despite it's not-so-great title), and it alone made me like him okay. He was the perfect voice for Kuzco and Kuzco's attitude, and I can't watch or hear David Spade without thinking of that character :p. Have you watched that movie? If not, give it a shot. It's really a funny and sweet film.

Pauly Shore - yuck.

I don't like Pauly Shore, but David Spade has that dry, snarky sense of humor I find really funny. I like Kathy Griffin, too- same type of humor.

David Spade was in one of the funniest movies I've ever seen- Tommy Boy. I was dragged to see it- thought I'd hate it. Laughed my *** off through the entire movie.

I like Pauly Shore. Change that. Not like. LOVE. L-O-V-E. I have always found him extremely funny.
