The good part of this is, that all the doctors keep saying if you're going to get cancer, this is the one to have. I'd obviously rather there'd be no cancer at all.

Still no word on the stage or whether it's definitely localized (she needs some MRI's done for that), but that's the up-to-date news as of today.

My boss had Hodgkins, and has been in remission for 4 years. He was diagnosed at 38, at a more advanced stage. I mentioned that Nicole was going through this, and he said that if she (or you) ever needs to talk to someone with experience he'll be available.

Echoing the sentiments of everyone else, so sorry that it is Cancer, but if you gotta have it, this is the one to have. I have a good friend who is a great success story from this type of diagnosis. He was diagnosed at age 16 (when we were in HS), went through 1 round (ONLY 1 round) of chemo/radiation, went into remission, and NEVER looked back. We are now 36 so he is 20 years cancer free. Pretty cool stuff.

I too, know someone who was very successfully treated for Hodgkins. The best man at our wedding was diagnosed at 34, and now at 41, he is completely cancer-free. My best wishes and prayers for Nicole's successful treatment. Pease keep us updated.

Steve, there truly is a huge difference between Hodgkins and non Hodgkins lymphoma. I am glad it went the way it did, though obviously I am sorry it was not negative. I promise to continue to keep praying for ya'll. Now even though it is harder, you have a beautiful child, and I send a sincere wish for a Merry Christmas!
