PAT - coming from Disney vs. Hyatt

I know you tend to get an earlier PAT when you’re using Disney transport coming from a Disney hotel. Does the same apply if you’re using Disney transport coming from the airport Hyatt?

It’d be really convenient to just stay at the Hyatt the night before the cruise, as opposed to getting ourselves to a Disney hotel. But the Hyatt is also more expensive that night, so I’m weighing pros and cons…

At least recently it's been people on transportation from WDW resorts with earlier groups than those coming from MCO. But the MCO ones would probably be the group right behind (like WDW might be group 3 and MCO might be 4 for example).

There have been reports of multiple buses from the MCO Hyatt (from the lobby, NOT from the airport itself). PAT and boarding groups correspond to which bus, and recently it was posted that bus assignments are based on CC status. But I have read differing reports. The earliest bus(or 2) from the MCO Hyatt does seem to arrive at Port Canaveral as early as the earliest buses from WDW resorts.

Buses from MCO airport location -- where Magical Express used to board -- have not been arriving as early as the resort buses. Passengers taking DCL Transfers from the airport need to select their PAT.

I"ve heard now that they assign the buses from MCO Hyatt based on CC level. When we did it in September, they weren't doing that but we went down to check in before 9 am hoping to get something a little later in the morning but ended up on the bus just after 9 am. We had boarding group 6 and got to the terminal before 10:30. Wasn't too keen on that since you still sit in the terminal for 2 hours. It was separate from the buses in the airport which I hadn't realized when I booked it. If I'd known, I'd have booked it just from the airport so that I could leave around 11:30 am. If they are doing it by CC level, the time of the bus will depend on that and how many people are staying there taking the shuttle.

I think we arrived about the same time as at least one bus from the Disney hotels. We're staying at AKL in a few weeks then taking the shuttle to the port and we're boarding group 4 so I'm assuming it will be leaving early (blah) which I also didn't realize. The last few times we took the shuttle from Disney hotels, they left anywhere between 10:30 and 12:30 and boarding number was irrelevant because you got to the terminal after open boarding which is my preference. I just don't see the point of sitting in the terminal in uncomfortable chairs for hours over lounging on my bed watching TV for a bit longer.

I did our online check in for the Fantasy a couple of weeks ago. We booked DCL transportation from MCO (not the Hyatt, just the airport). When I called to book the ride, the CM told me not to worry about the PAT and that the buses start running at 10 am and continue until 2 pm. Our port arrival form has a PAT of 11:15-11:30 and boarding group 3. We are flying in the day before and staying at one of the hotels near the airport.
