staying at the Pan Pacific in Vancouver and have an 11:30-12;00 PAT time. Any point in going down to the port earlier than that or will we be unable to do anything?

Disney is the only ship in port. At least it was for the last few months. Some how we were later getting on with several of the initial PAT's and family of the day. Never heard what the delay was.
So I can't say my going early made a difference.
Arrived at10:15
PAT 11:30
On Ship at 11:45-12:00

When we went in June the Wonder was NOT the only ship in port, the Norwegian Sun was as well (and I think is in port the same day as the Wonder every other week.

Our shuttle driver said the port is CRAZY before 12, we arrived right at 12, and although busy it was manageable and we had no waiting, check in, customs, and by then we walked right on the ship. You can go early but will spend more time waiting. My thought was relax in the hotel and then spend less time waiting.

You can go early. In June 2016, we went early because we wanted to ask about possible upgrades (they were sold out upon arrival) and because we wanted to be in one of the first boarding groups (to enjoy as much time on the ship as possible).

Unfortunately, even though we got boarding group 4 (or maybe it was 5) which was meant to start at 11:00am, there was some kind of delay and they didn't start boarding anyone until after 12:00pm. So, arriving early just meant that we spent a lot of time waiting and studying the navigator. From memory, our boarding group wasn't called until around 12:30pm.

Norwegian was also there in June for us. We arrived early and boarded before our scheduled time. I wanted to be there asap and wanted to spend as many moments on board as possible.

Since you are staying at the Pan Pacific, I would let them their bell services take whatever checked luggage you have to the ship. You could always head down to the port whenever you and and if it looks crowded just head back upstairs to the hotel.

We stayed at the Pan for our cruise in June and it was a very simple process. Called bell services around 8:30 had them take our luggage, grabbed breakfast at the Tim Horton's across the street, and then headed down the elevator to the port. We got there around 9:30 and were some of the first in line. Checked in and were on board just after 11 (we had the first 11-11:30 PAT), some waiting but nothing too bad, and it's nice to get on and be able to enjoy lunch and explore a bit.

I highly recommend using the luggage service at the Pan, it is free (make sure to tip though!) and they were very prompt and helpful. When we walked past the bag drop line around 9:30 it was an absolute zoo - probably would have added at least an hour to the check in process, as it was we sailed by that line and the check-in/security/customs process was super quick, even with 2 ships in port that day.

They do have navigators available to read and characters taking pictures in the waiting area to pass the time before you can board.

Enjoy your cruise!

It was the only ship on July 4, July 11. People on earlier Wonder trips has said the same. Maybe things were jostled around a bit when some ship took out a dock in Ketchikan's port. That's back up by the way shows no damage what so ever.
