I just renewed my Nexus card all on line and I got the new card with in a week
they used my old photo which is fine but I was surprised on now quick I got it.

when we do travel again i will need to renew my son's passport and get a for my daughter, mine is still good for a few more years

All ours are good til 2023. I feel like we just got gipped two years, haha.

Wow !! I renewed my NEXUS online last August (2020) and am still waiting for approval...

Well flights are booked so better get on kiddo's passport. I really hope I can convince him of a haircut first. I do them myself so don't have to wait for things to open for that.

I need to get on this, thanks for the reminder. Will get the passport pics this week. We have to send their original birth certificate I see? I’m so worried about doing that in the mail! They just send it back when they send back the passport?

Make sure to send it registered mail with tracking, and yes, they will send it back. I am not super worried about that part, they'll have a process in place to keep track of these things and not let them get lost. It may come back separate from the passport though, I have heard both ways.

Just wanted to give everyone who may need to renew soon I just got my daughters back in a little over three weeks and my son ( adult passport ) got his back a month or so ago with even less wait ..
so if you need to do it do it now ..before everyone who wants to travel realizes they need to renew ..may be a big backlog coming

Is registered mail the same as "Lettermail"? I am on the Canada Post website and trying to decide if I need lettermail which is trackable for $11.60 or Xpresspost 3-day service which is $22.68. I "think" the difference is literally the guaranteed 3-day delivery, which I don't need.

No, it looks to me like you need to pay for a letter to be "registered" on top of any other postage. For something this important I'd only be confident going into a post-office (for me in Shoppers) and explicitly using that term

Ack! okay. I am going into my office tomorrow to get some stuff done and there is an actual CP office around the block. I will go armed with various labels of the two difference addresses for Passport Canada let them let mw what I need to guarantee my docs don't get lost.

I did Xpresspost a few days ago for ours, hope that’s ok! It says it will be arriving by end of day Wednesday. I just hope they don’t send it back and it goes through no problem

It took about a month for us. Just got the original documents and new passport back in the mail last week (they were together, not two separate mailings). We sent it in via Registered Mail (enquire at Post Office, they sell you the envelope there with tracking on it and you just have to fill out the address info).

I admit I was quite surprised to see a 2 day xpresspost package addressed to my 5 year old when I checked the mail. Had completely forgot about the passport application.

Can anyone confirm if you need to mail separately if you have multiple passports to renew? I've only done the in person renewals or in person drop offs, never had to package and send before.

Yes. You can indicate of you want it back or for them to destroy it
