I am a TA, and I got the information and called Disney to confirm.

I'm SO excited - this is such a great thing for all the AP holders! I'm about ready to burst!

Denise

Yeah!!!

I am hoping that all of us writing them helped. I wrote in December saying that I would have booked WDW resorts twice this fall. But their AP policy made this impossible at the last minute. Regular resort rate vs. AP rate (if still available of course) made the choice clear. And if I was a DVC member and thought of doing that I wondered how much money that they had lost by other AP/Non DVC members vacation saying "yeah Ap rate...let's go to WDW". I really think they missed out on a lot of last minute, at least less than sixty days, vacation dollars spent at WDW. And it's not just resort $$$s....food $$$$s......merchandise $$$$$s.

Thank you so much for the information. This has made my day and many others' I'm sure!!!

As of last month, we were told that the online booking with strict rules would be permanent. But I am SO glad, and I hope that everyone writes to Disney and thanks them! I know of passholders who want to do the Everest opening, but they wouldn't have been able too get passholder rooms otherwise!

I called and confirmed it with an agent after I got the news. I need to call them back in a bit, I can certainly ask them again. They were told that the rules were going exactly back to the same 5 days cancellation as prior to the "best" rates.

Denise

Now if they would let us book vacations through June at least. April 8? Gah! I have two trips I want to plan.

One aspect of the "Best Rate" program that I hope they keep is the automatic adjustment of rates if lower rates become available.

Otherwise, it will be back to the barrage of phone calls to CRO every time new rates are released - exactly the situation that many believe led to the previous program in the first place.

(And until I just read your post in two different places, I never realized which "Denise" you are! Hi, Mrs. P.)

This is exciting news!!! :teeth: We haven't been to WDW since May 2005 when our last AP's expired, but I was dreading making our plans for this September with BRP.

Does anyone know if I'll be able to go ahead & book an AP rate (when available for Sept) without my AP or voucher in front of me?? I'd prefer to purchase our AP's once we arrive at WDW than dealing with ordering vouchers ahead of time. Thanks!! :)

Do you think with the new system that if you have a booking already in place at rack rate or with a AAA discount that you will be able to just apply the codes again, without having to cancel and re-book the whole thing???

Okay, who are you? I have no idea! :)

The thing with the AP rates, they normally don't change - so it's just the one call to change when they come out, usually.

YES YOU CAN!!!! Woohoo!!!! Me too, I didn't want to go and buy it until I knew for sure I was getting a good deal.

To quote Mousesavers... "You can book with a valid Annual Pass, an exchange voucher or with the intent to purchase an Annual Pass, as long as you present a valid Annual Pass or exchange voucher upon check-in."

Yeah!!!!

Check out mousesavers for all the info and codes.

They also now give you the option to book up to three rooms.

The discounts I saw are very good. I might have to make a trip back to WDW soon.

Thanks Deb!! I didn't know Mousesavers was up to date already! We can buy our AP's at SOG with a military discount since hubby is in the Guard. This definitely makes it worth it to wait until we arrive to buy them (& it's one less thing to forget at home! LOL) ::yes::

This is great news!!!!

Well, here's a hint - you just wrote a reply to me on "the other forum" a little bit ago, and I'm not related to Mr. Incredible.

Are you the queen of adventureland? :) Or maybe we were discussing Everest?

Wow, a puzzle!

Does this line ring any bells?

"on a Thursday after a full moon and stand on your left leg while wearing a green fedora"

I just checked on the AP site and that's not what the new rates and rules section for the Pass Holder Rates says.

The new rules states that cancellations must be made 46 days prior to arrival for a full refund of the deposit.

Just a friendly FYI. :)
