Wow! Who'd a "thunk" it? We purchased a 200 point resale from TTS at $78 per point ($80.50 per point with closing costs included). August UY, with no points banked, but all 200 for 2004 available on 8/1/04.

I thought for sure (despite TSS's belief otherwise) that the contract would be snatched up by Disney via ROFR.

I was completely shocked to receive a phone call indicating that Disney had declined to exercise its buy-back option!

We close in about two weeks, but I guess we can consider ourselves unofficially official members of DVC! Yay!

DVC was selling SSR for $79 ppt before the price increase with incentives so thats probably why your broker was not worried.

Welcome Home Neighbor!

CONGRATS!! and Welcome Home

Very cool!

Now I'll have to be on the lookout...:D

Ahhhh -- now I get it!

The only incentive they were offering at the time we took the tour (June 15th) was the Magical Beginnings incentive, which would have decreased the cost to $85 per point -- still well above the $78/$80.50 we were trying to get through resale. That's why I was worried. I also was worried because a couple of posters had mentioned the SSR resales and noted that they'd talked to guides who said they'd never go through.

But your explanation has cleared up things for me! I have seen the light (i.e., the bulb over my head)!

Thanks!!

CONGRATULATIONS & WELCOME HOME! :bounce:
Sounds like a great buy!

Congratulations!

I am so surprised at the number of SSR resales on the market. And to think that at least one has closed already (or passed ROFR) We bought last summer and are staying for the first time in a few days. I can't wait to use my points! I wouldn't fathom selling at this point.

I'm sure they must have had a good reason to sell their points but their loss is your gain!

Enjoy and welcome home!

Kim,

Congratulations. Did your $80.50 price include the 2004 MF's? If so, then that is really a great price. I paid $90 through Disney in June... but I would have gladly purchased resale if I thought a SSR resale market was developing so quickly.

/Jim
