Passed ROFR 3/14, still waiting for closing docs

EWL, how long did that take? We finally closed on ours today.

Well, it seems we closed on the 19th so today is the 7th business day since closing...

(PS: been to Kona once and it was so awesome! Loved the coffee too! :thumbsup2)

Thanks. Kona is totally awesome, isn't it? It's a great (but very expensive) place to live. We've been gone 3 years and I still I miss it every day.

Gosh! I'm not sure! I didn't get that much info. The title company just said we were "closed" on the 13th. I would only assume that it was sent to Disney to be transferred that day. I got another email, this time from the resale broker, on Saturday and it said we were closed. Maybe that's when the deed was recorded? Sorry I'm not much help. :confused3

I hope you get to leave the Wait Inn soon!

So it's been 14 calendar days since Disney received the transfer paperwork/recorded deed on 4/18. I am getting impatient now :headache:! I thought I would not think about it for a week (and we were on vacation, so that helped), but now that we are back, I am wondering why it is taking so long?! Is there another number you call besides the generic MS number? We are already members so they can, of course, see our regular contract, but MS can't see another contract when using my name or SSN. Any advice :confused3 ?

Sigh... we are still not in the system... :sad1:

If you have not already, I would advise calling MS and asking for somebody in the resale department. I did this and it seemed to help. Ask to speak to somebody who handles resales. Relay to MS how long you've been waiting, and tell them you want to speak to somebody who might get you more info.

Worth a shot. Really stinks how long this is taking for some people. I thought they'd be catching up by now.

Yay! Yay! I logged on this morning and the points were there! I had logged on six times yesterday, plus called MS, so I know that they were not there then ;). But this morning, they were there:thumbsup2! I called up and booked a vacation at VGC :cool1:! This took 15 calendar days from the time Disney received the transfer paperwork to the time they showed up online.

And thanks for the tip about asking for someone in resales. Luckily, I didn't have to go that route!

Mine took exactly 15 calendar days, too. I had the same experience - checked it online on a Friday night and nothing, not even the contract showing up. Checked it Saturday afternoon and the contract and the points showed up. I immediately made my reservation for October!

How does one know when Disney received the paperwork/deed? We are now at 16 calendar days since we "closed" and are still not in the DVC system and nothing on the comptrollers website. How do you reach someone who handles resales? Is it a different option when you call the DVC number?

We got the word on Friday 4/15 that our BWV contract closed. Woo hoo! Now the last wait for the points to show up. We went into ROFR on 3/1. This has been one long haul!

Our contract showed up on the DVC site on 4/30 in the morning, 15 days from closing - no points there, but later that night when I checked again, the points had appeared.

We were able to change our 12/12-19 SSR reservation to BWV, a BV view studio, for all but our 1st and last nights. I've wait-listed those and hope they'll come through, although now I'm wondering if we should just go all out and book a 1-bedroom. They had BV view 1-bedrooms available for all our dates when I called to change the reservation on Sunday. I need to make up my mind fast!

I specifically asked the closing company when they sent the recorded deed to Disney. They told me that it was Fedex'd and would arrive on 4/18. I have decided that "closing" is the day that it officially records (date stamped on deed). Then it takes a number of days to get back to the closing company, and the closing company forwards it to Disney for the transfer.

With a VGC purchase, it doesn't appear that any of this back and forth paperwork with Disney happens electronically, but maybe the Orlando resorts have a faster time between "closing" and Disney receiving the deed.

FINALLY! We are in the system and have our 1st reservation for AKV Jambo in August! :cheer2: good luck to everyone still waiting!
