For those have done this event, how is it set up? Do you have to attend the concert to get to the rest of the event, or can you bypass the concert and just show up for the event afterwards? How does it fall with Illuminations times, before and after or does it interfere?

I know some of you have attended the Party of the Senses, because I've seen things about it posted!! Can no one answer?

Hi Cassie! I've not attended a PFTS (yet) but you do not have to attend the concert. You can head straight to the venue where the event is held and wait for them to throw open the doors to a very hungry group of guests.

We're going on 10/20... when are you planning on being there?

Just saw your post! You do not have to do the concert, infact we never do. We get in line about 30 minutes before it starts and wait. The event is over right as Illuminations begins and we have always been able to head out and watch from the Canada area!

You don't have to attend the concert.

They shoo you out with announcements before Illuminations starts. You won't get a special place to watch it, though. There are way too many people at the event for that.

I usually leave before Illuminations but I've seen it enough that I don't hang around.

I went to a PFTS back in 2005, and am going to my second one this year. I loved it when I went in 2005, it was well worth the money for me. Though it's $40 more then the last time I went ($30 price increase last year, $10 this year,) I'm still going to one, this time with my DM(om.) (In 2005 I was solo.)

Anyway, when I went there were twenty-four different food items, (I know because I was looking at the menu book the other day from it.) Five were dessert items, and nineteen were savory. There were also lots of wines.

Now, I'm not a big wine drinker, and I believe I only sampled about four or five different ones in the two and a half hours, so if it were just wine, I wouldn't go. But the food alone is worth the cost to me.

I am a major foodie, and I love trying new things. There is almost nothing I won't eat, but I don't like mushrooms. Though suprisingly my favorite savory dish from the PFTS I attended had mushrooms in it, go figure.

Anyway, I thought I had written a review, but I went back and found my 2005 restaurant reviews, and I wrote a review for all my TS and CS meals, as well as everything I had at the Food and Wine Festival booths, but for whatever reason I did not write one for PFTS. :confused3 I will definatly be writing one this year though.

I can't wait until tomorrow, I'm able to book PFTS and Sweet Sunday. :goodvibes I never thought I'd look foward to spending $400 so much. ;) Also, tomorrow, though this has nothing to do with the Food and Wine Festival, it does have to do with food, sort of - the season finale of Hell's Kitchen is on. Can't wait for that.

Thanks for answering! So where is it held then? And you definitely get out in time for Illuminations? That's our only chance to see Illuminations on this trip, and I don't want to miss it either!

oybolshoi - If we get to do it, it will be on Oct. 6. But as we haven't booked it yet, I don't know if there will be any openings by the time DH agrees to spend the money.:confused3 I'm hoping...but we'll see.

It is at the World Showplace, which is of course at Epcot. It's the big building between Canada and the United Kingdom. And yes, you will definatly be able to see Illuminations, just leave when they make the announcements, maybe a little earlier if you want to try and get a good spot.

Also, in case you're interested, the exact cost for Party for the Senses this year, with tax, for two people is $287.55.

Just thought of one more question...that is if we can even still book it, since DH still hasn't decided. Food wise, for those of you there in the past, if we're extra picky, are we going to hate it? I mean, is it a lot of seafood or raw/undercooked meat like a lot of fancy is? I don't want to spend all that money and then not like the food....

Actually, most of that sounds pretty tasty. I'll have to really push DH though....thanks you guys. I'll let you know if I pull this off.;)

Went 2 years in a row to PFS, first year $95, last year $125, this year $135.
Have thoroughly enjoyed both times we've gone. Wine is wonderful, and if you know your wines, there are some 'under the table' you have to ask the server for, and food is fantastic. I don't eat seafood and there has always been plenty for me there. The entertainment is top notch as is the entire setting. Don't need to dress up alot, just 'nice'. There aren't that many tables and when they 'open the doors' it reminds me of the opening of MK, but adult style (bunch of adults instead of kids running to the park). We've shared our table with folks both years and have really had a blast and had some great conversations. Last year we were fortunate enough to sit with a couple that the wife was a wine distributor (that's how we learned about the 'good stuff' under the tables we had to ask for). Perhaps it's so nice because it's a 'kids free zone'???? (I do believe you can bring kids, but haven't seen any there). Husband and I are sad we're not attending this year, but when I told him the price increase again, he said, perhaps if it keeps going up, we need to reconsider.

Go, have a blast! You don't enjoy yourselves, at least you can say 'been there, done that'.
