We're taking our twin girls to Disney for their 2nd birthday and will be throwing a birthday party while there. It's really an adult party as family will be attending and everyone is 16 years old or more. I'm looking for a restaurant where we can have a little party, ideally with a private room if they will accommodate such a small party in a private room. We'll take the main dining room if we have to.

Couple of preferences:
1. Party will start at 5:30 and go until 7 or 7:30.
2. We're staying at the Boardwalk so that area is preferred but willing to go to a resort near the MK. If there are interesting park options, would be interested in hearing of them.
3. Sit down is preferred over buffet
4. Characters are not required but decorations would be nice

Please share your thoughts; I posted here rather than the family board as it's more of an adult thing even though it's the girls' birthday.

There are not a lot of places like that that I know of at Disney. More importantly, when are you going? Reservations are crucial for a party that size

There is the wine room at the CG. It is a side room that would hold that size. Jiko also has some side rooms at the AK.

There is also the attic at the BW. It is a private room over Jellyrolls that you can rent for events, depending on your bedget (this one would be pricey)

At the BW, there is a few TS, but not with a private room. It is not common to have this type of event at Disney. :)

Here is a link to the DIS Menus.

You can check on the menus around the BW area to see if any of the menus fit what you are looking for

good luck with your planning!!

Jody--

Thanks for the options. We're very much in the planning stages right now so options are ranging from 1900 Park Fare with the characters and a manageable price as a buffet to a catered event at one of the beaches . . . whether at GF, Poly or BC/YC. If anyone has thrown an event like that I would love to hear about it.

We're traveling the first week in February so while it's not too far away, I'm hoping that it will be less crowded and easier to make an ADR if necessary.

The first week of Feb 2009? That is actually pretty close in terms of Disney planning. Many book their dining reservations out at 180 days.

If 1900 Park Faire is one of your options, I would call today and find out if you can get a reservation for your party size. Large groups are difficult to book. You can have that ADR while looking into other options and can cancel if you decide to go another way

Let us know what you decide and how it turns out :)

You can definately do this type of private event at disney, easily and wonderfully. I did it for hubby's 50th. The events are very common, you just don't know they are happening.

Only took me one day to finalize everything, a day or so more to decide on the options offered once my planner was assigned to me. The menu selection is huge (buffet / plated and served, etc, you choose).

Perfect way to do a family gathering like you are talking about doing.

ok, that makes sense. I interpreted the OP request to be looking for disney restaurants that had rooms for parties, like many local restaurants would have :)
