Party for the Senses 10/20/07 - Join Us!!!

Melissa, Thank you!!

Mom's so happy that we actually added a day of Epcot so we can really enjoy the booths!

A lot OT but I knew you guys would love to hear this because it's such wonderful news...

My mom's disability was finally approved after almost 6 years of fighting to get it approved! She had a court date in July and we got the desicion and award letter this week! She's so excited, now this makes the F&W Fest trip even sweeter for her!

Jennifer, that is great news! Glad for your Mom! :goodvibes

And I'll remember not try to go toe to toe with you on tequila!

Sheryl, thank you so much!! She's so happy to stop paying her ridiculous insurance premium every month. But now it's the figuring out of Rx plans. yay for us!!

Mmmm tequila.... it's my weakness!

Jennifer, You may need lots of tequila after trying to figure out the medical plans!

I do like good tequila myself! I just don't handle it as well as I do wine. Anytime anyone we know is heading to Mexico, we give them money to pick us up a good bottle of Mexican Anejo or Reposado, I love that stuff! A work aquaintance of my DH from Mexico, has also unfortunately gotten us hooked on a Mexican drink called a Cocktail Vampiro. It's made with this bottled mix called Sangrita that has chiles & citrus in it, then add grapefruit juice & good tequila. The only drink I can compare it to would be a very spicy Bloody Mary but that's not even close. I can't find the Sangrita mix around here & have been ordering it online for a couple of years now.

That sounds really good.

I do enjoy tequila myself too. Can't wait until I get my fiesta margarita on the 12th - thats when vacation really starts.

Anyone try those year of a million dreams martinis!
Not a true martini at all but still really tasty.

Yeah, those partd D things are really confusing! I'm hitting up the budget and disabilities boards for advice.

Mmmm, that drink sounds too good and I'm not into bloody mary's but tequila makes everything better!

MMMMMMMM Fiesta Margarita!!! I told my mom about those last year and she said "that's the first booth we're hitting up!!" She loves a good margarita. And those are surprisingly strong so they hit the spot. now if I can just remember what flavors were in the fiesta I'd be set!:drinking1

I think there's strawberry, lime, kiwi, and mango.

What's in the year of a million dreams martini? And where can I get one?!!! ;)

I've never tried the fiesta margarita, I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to margaritas, but maybe I'll have to give it a try this year! Fit it in there somewhere with all of the wine, beer & other tasty drinks!!

They serve it at most of the restaurants. Its blue and yummy and it has a glow cube!

From allears:
Blue "Glow-Tini" inspired by the Year of a Million Dreams - Skyy citrus vodka, peach schnapps, blue curacao, sweet-and-sour, and pineapple juice with a sugared rim

That does sound delish!!! Thanks! :goodvibes

Finally got around to posting pictures of the wine charms:

I'm booking the 20th but I am going with local friends and possibly my parents and won't be able to sit at a DIS table. But I'll see if I can spot one.

Very nice! :thumbsup2 What did you use for the Mickey head? It almost looks like marble!(or could that just be the light reflection?)

My DH had a friend make him a special wine holder for his wheelchair!!! He's now ready to go for lots of tasting at the PFTS!!!

Its actually a glass beads that I found at AC Moore while I was shopping there last week. I was originally going to make my mickey head out of firm wire for the charms but when I saw those beads I decided to go for that instead since it looked enough like a mickey head and was lime green.

I went look at our local craft stores for something like that, but I didn't find anything. Maybe I'll try to do something with the LGM paint chip from HD.:confused3

Hey Gang!!

Only 7 more days until the Food & Wine Festival begins.

And

Only 8 more days until Marcel and I go to check it out for the afternoon and to get the festival guide booklets!!!

Can't wait to see what seminars they have in store for this year.

Can you tell I'm just too excited!! :yay:

I have 4 extra blue 'mickey' beads I could send you.

or

I have some extra of the wine charms you are free to have when we get there :cool2:

I may have time to go back out to the store and get more wire to make some more.
