I'll go in YOUR PLACE!! :woohoo:

I HATE bride parties, but if a stripper's there.. now that's another story...:cheer2::dance3:

Most of my friends have either gone to strip clubs or had strippers for their bachelor party. I don't go to those places normally but since it isn't about me, it is their party, I do what they want and don't whine about it.

:lmao:Sacrificing for your friend.....so noble!

I'd try being "busy" first. However, I'll think you'll probably have to come up with a good lie that you can slip in if pressured.

Unfortunately you'll probably be pressured for reasons. I have found in life (and especially on the DIS!:lmao:) that it's very hard to express a conservative opinion about anything without people thinking you are being judgemental. If you say you aren't comfortable with strippers it will probably somehow be taken as a judgement of them for wanting strippers.

Ok I have the Best Stripper story. When my friend got married we hired a Dance/stripper. Well he was very nice, good looking more of a dancer than stripper, but had ya know stripper moves. Well the next week she moved into her new place a 4 unit building, goes to get the mail & the stripper was one of her neighbors. She said she almost died, he was very nice about it . He ended up being a good friend.

Bleh.. I got married last month and had one at my bachelorette.. against strict instructions that I had given my BFF/maid of honor! Blech.. it was not a fun time for me, but I was a good sport. I suppose it wouldn't have been so bad if the guy hadn't been a little past his prime :scared1:

I'm with you op, not my scene either. I would however, go to the party and stay for about an hour or so, then say you have other plans but wanted to stop by.

this i never understand, if you are the bride/groom and say no stripper, that should be respected.
when my wifes coworkers wanted to throw her a party, she told them no stripper, they joked they would get one anyway, she simply said no and that if they did she would leave.

I'm in the same boat as the OP and don't really care if I'm seen as "judgmental" when I tell co-workers and friends that I won't be attending parties with strippers. I'm just too uncomfortable around these situations and you KNOW that the person who looks the most uncomfortable is the one they seem to pick on the most so everyone else in the room can laugh at the uncomfortable person.

I'd decline the invite and only give a reason if pressed for one.

Ugh. Id tell them I have other plans. I do not feel comfortable around male strippers. And tryng to get out of there when he is in there didnt work for me last time. It was awful.

I live in fear of my bachelorette party. I have a future SIL that in no way will honor my wishes of nothing raunchy. I am not sure why, but she seems to enjoy embarrasing/humiliating people. She is all about raunchy stripeers and inappropriate gifts. Ick. It is a big family so I have witnessed her behavior first hand on several occasions, and with 2 brides who did NOT want that kind of party. Nothing like having to explain to an extremely modest MIL what the "gift" actually is. :sad2:

I was part of a bridal party that had a stripper (and it was someone they knew from their small town, yuck)

Could be worse. At my Aunt's Bachlorette party her daughters hired a stripper. When the stripper got there is turned out to be a childhood friend of my other Aunt's (the brides sister) sons.

She normally has no issue with strippers but she couldn't stay and watch a kid that spent the night at her house for years.

I'm wondering if my distaste for strippers at parties has more to do with the way some other women act around them.

I'm not a fan of strippers at Bachelorette parties myself (and neither my husband nor I wanted one) but it always could be worse.

She could be wearing one of these...

Some of those on there... :scared1:

Do some women forget that they're about to get married or something?!

Very true. And if there is anything worse than seeing young women behaving all lusty...it is seeing older women. :rotfl:

OT: Your kitty is gorgeous!! Is that a "pose" or what??? :lovestruc

I would say I had another commitment.
"Another commitment" is a very flexible phrase. Another commitment could be a commitment to washing your hair, a commitment ot watching your favorite TV show, a commitment to not watching co-workers get all crazy over a male stripper.
