I have never ridden the monorail. :(

DH and DSis rode it while I was on nap duty (bus to ASMu) once. It has been on my plan every trip but we never made it. This year we'll probably ride several times to get from BWV to the MK resorts (thru Epcot).

Never?????? Oh Terri that is a must do!! Going from MK into Epcot is fun because you actually see parts of Epcot as you enter it. The resort loop is great for a mid-day break to get off your feet.

*If monorail breaks down or has a huge delay that impacts your carefully thought out plans, you can't hold me responsible.

I have a confession.. I've never been on the Monorail either. I know I know shame on me. Last year we were gonna do it but then got a great deal on a rental car and decided to skip the hassle. This year for sure because we're gonna tour the resorts for the Christmas decorations.

Well, what else can I do? I've figured out...

flights
hotel (complete with extra night)
dining plan
ADRs
general touring plan
magical express
possible counter-service options
list of snacks and other things to eat
souvenir-buying list
other fun things (animation academy at HS, rope drop at MK, pick-a-pearl at Ep)

The only other thing I need to do is to make a reservation at The Pirate's League for my partner.

It's like an attraction all on its own!! I didn't realize you could go to Disney and not ride it!! :rotfl2:

Check other DISers ADR's to see if there is a possible Dis-meet.

Decide which clothes you want to wear at each park (could be difficult with weather. I am going to be really bummed if all my cute new shirts are covered up all week)
Decide which attractions you have no interest in at all so you dont waste time on them.
2nd guess resort and ADRs. Ok really it should say 15th guess, not 2nd. ;)
Are you doing window or room decorations?
Maybe a surprise from Disney Florist.

I guess u can't miss what you've never done. It's a priority this trip though.

Hi everyone!!! :wave2:

Wow, it's taken me almost two days to catch up since I posted last (somewhere around page ninety-something)... anyway, so excited at how close we're all getting to our Christmas trips!!

I'm at T minus 57 days, 17 hours and 12 minutes...

I've loved reading about monthly plans to make the time go faster!
For us we have the following:

Rest of October - volleyball games every weekend, select girl's softball tournaments (manfriend coaches), HALLOWEEN (we LOOOOVEEE halloween!!) and of course, the reason for the fall season - FOOTBALL every Sunday... God bless the person who thought of Sunday NFL ticket...

November - my birthday (cough, we can skip that), more football and softball and of course Thanksgiving and putting up our Christmas decorations.

We've decided to drive to Austin the night before and stay the night there so we won't have to leave SA at o'dark:thirty... so technically, I can now say our vacation starts NEXT MONTH since we'll be on the road November 30! We're still hoping SW will lower their flights to MCO out of San Antonio so we can fly in and out from here. If it were just a few dollars more than we'd do it for sure when you consider the cost of gas to drive to Austin, but it's still about $100 more per person to go out of SA...

I got our shirts from Disney Store I had ordered a few weeks ago and as cute as they are, there's just no way that medium I ordered for me is going to fit the actual medium me... just sayin'... I was shocked when manfriend agreed to order a somewhat matching shirt. I gave him options and he was cool with wearing the same colors/similar design - guess he figures that's better than the tie-dyed shirts I was aiming for over the summer :confused3

ahhhh so happy to be back and sharing with the peeps who get me! :upsidedow

Yay for being able to say NEXT MONTH!!!! :cool1:

Are you saying the medium is too big for you or too small? You got the long sleeve tees, right? I think it was you that brought those up and helped fuel my Disney shirt addiction. :lmao:

Yes, I was the enabler that mentioned the thermal shirts on sale... :smokin:
The shirt was just really slender cut - I'm actually a pretty slender person, but I don't like clingy things and this is just cut very narrow. Make sense? I'm thinking if I buy the large then I'll ended up having some really long sleeves?

But hey for $12, I might just deal with it and hope you won't be able to see the outline of the cupcake I just ate...

I have a dilema... help me out here...

We're arriving on Saturday, Dec. 1 and going to MK. I definitely don't expect to ride anything because I know weekends are packed - so my ONLY must-do this day is watching the evening firework shows. My dilema is this: do I try and get the dessert party for that night and see the Castle show from there or just make my way to a prime viewing spot a few hours before and camp? Understand this will be my FIRST Castle show... when we were there over the summer, we were on such a mission to get to rides we were basically running past the parades and shows so we could take advantage of the smaller lines. I want the best possible spot for my first show... Do we pay the money to enjoy it from the terrace, knowing we won't eat even 1/2 of what we pay for? :faint:

I say since to keep from camping out so long do the dessert party that way maybe you can do a few rides or shop!

Ok good. If the medium was too big, I was going to hate you. :rotfl: I agree the shirt is very fitted. Mine is a much bigger size and the sleeves are very long.

Is that the day of the parade taping? If so, Main St will be crazy. Not sure when it ends. If that's the case, I would do the dessert party just to have a spot and not have to fight the crowds. Not sure if it is a better view than actually on Main St though.

On our big trip in Jan 2011 we had planned to go from Epcot to dinner at California Grill for Wishes on our last night. But we ended up bailing. Well, after I burst into tears in the middle of Morocco. Not that I cared that much about going. I was just so exhausted (DS had insomnia on that trip), I couldn't think outside the plan. Not exactly my finest moment. Anyway, we had resort touring planned for that trip too. But it got squeezed out by Wild Africa Trek, so I can't complain. ;)

This time we'll actually be on the monorail on Day 2 - MK followed by dinner at Le Cellier. Then we'll probably do it again on our off day to get to WL and Contemp from Boardwalk. I'm definitely excited about seeing resorts too. I once hopped off the DME bus just to take pics of POR. *lol*

Hilarious! But I like your thinking - that's so something I would say! :rotfl2:

Not to be more of an enabler, okay, yes maybe I am aiming for others to join in my shopping crusade... I've seen quite a few Disney Christmas shirts on eBay...

I'm thinking I'm going to go ahead and book the dessert party. That might be the only night we get to see it and I want it to be the best experience possible.

Meltdowns happen to the best of us. :flower3:

I would definitely trade resort hopping for the Wild Africa Trek. :thumbsup2

Yay!! You are going from MK-Epcot.

I am guessing you are bussing to MK from the BW? It seems kinda funny to say you are going from BW to CR via the monorail. I think there is a thread about monorail expansion. :rotfl2:

Wow!! That is a great idea and easy way to see a different resort for a minute or two.

Have you seen the cute WS shirts on Disney Store Online???
And yes, now I am going to ebay to see the Christmas shirts. Sigh.
