Ordered my Photopass CD. One more thing off my list. :thumbsup2

Deciding if I am ordering Photopass is on my list. I think I am though, because DH informed me last night that he is not waiting in any character lines with me. He will sit somewhere and wait for me. :scared1: So I guess I am having the pp photographer take pics. I really only care about doing M&M at the party. But that can be the excuse I needed to preorder it. :thumbsup2

So it looks like I am leaving you all. We're having to postpone our trip, my grandmother is not well, spent last weekend on a ventilator. She's home because there's nothing else they can do. They give her 2 months or so. So we're pushing our trip back to late February.

Enjoy your trips, have magical Christmasy times! & shop, shop, shop! pixiedust:pixiedust:

I may peek in from time to time as there seems to be no February thread!? :confused3 :faint:

So sorry to hear about your grandmother. We will miss you on here, so come check in with us. Go make the Feb thread liven up too!

Come and visit anytime and tell us all about your Feb trip :)

Hello everyone:goodvibes Reporting from the Bahamas regarding Hurricane Sandy:rotfl: Well, Sandy is definitely unpredictable....she was supposed to breeze through overnight and be long gone, but oh no...the Bahamas are just way too beautiful so she decides to take her sweet time slowing down during the night...It was a miserable night! The worst should have been over by 2 am, but when we got up at 8 am it was still blowing a hurricane outside and since we didn't have power, we had no clue that she had slowed down significantly and the eye wasn't over us until sometime this morning about 9 am roughly.

Now it has been pretty calm for hours and there have been some conflicting stories...had the storm passed finally? OR was it the eye over us and the worst was yet to come? With most typical hurricanes the worst is usually after the calm of the eye, but Sandy is not a typical formed hurricane, so it is actually quite confusing :headache:

As far as we can tell, we will still get 50mph + winds this afternoon into tonight. Hopefully by tomorrow she will be all gone. We do have a lot of our shutters open right now to get some breeze (we have shutters that fortunately close from the inside of our house!)

We have generator power right now and thanks to our Cable company (my internet and cable) being tied into the hardware store on the island, we will have Cable/internet as long as the hardware has their generator turned on!!!

My husband and I had a miserable night, but of course the girls slept right through everything! Oh, and some good news...I finally found my other cat, Pookie! She looks a little shook up and wet, but once she smelled the can of cat food, she was hopping right towards me (YES, she hops when she gets excited...her original name she came with was Bunny and now we know why, lol :rotfl2:)

I'm really hoping that by tomorrow we might get power again!!! I'm really praying for all of you that are in Sandy's expected path. It is definitely a huge storm that we've been feeling now for 3 days now.

Please stay safe, everyone!!!

I just keep telling myself, 48 more days until Disney:cheer2:

Glad to hear from you! Hope you'll see sunshine soon :)

DC weather forecast is saying we have a 1 in 3 chance of (a) Direct Hit (b) almost Direct hit and (c) indirect hit. Either way we're in for a lot of rain and high winds; it's just a question of when. Our area already made headlines earlier this year with week long power outages. The problem is we have all above-ground power lines and the power company is terrible at maintaining them, cutting trees, etc. Of course, the last storm cleared out a lot of trees so we shall see.

We decided tomorrow we should get out of the house while we can. So after I hit the grocery store (very early), we're going to head to Virginia to hit a few wineries. We need to pick up our wine club selection and stock up on a few things so it's a good outing. All our favorites are kid and puppy friendly and it's only about an hour away.

Thinking of you all on the east coast - be safe!

Don't remind me :headache:. I'm on Long Island and am NOT looking forward to this.

:( We'll be thinking of you!

Today was the day! We made our final payment - eek!!!! We'll be in Disney in 43 sleeps - we are soooooo excited!!! :cool1:

I have the first and last shirts on your list. Hopefully red suits me too. :rotfl2: I should really learn to shop in the women's section.

HA! You made excellent choices ... they are really nice!

Hooray! So have you crossed everything off you list now? Is it just time to wait :scratchin

It seems to me that quite a few of you might be affected by this hurricane :sad2:

Do me a favour please. Could you quote this and let me know if it could affect you and whereabouts you are? I just like to know who I need to keep in my thoughts .... I would hate to be frillying around not knowing that someone out there needs my positive vibes.

Thank you :goodvibes

Awww....so sweet of you! Thanks for the positive vibes :goodvibes

I'm in Maryland, about 20 minutes south of Baltimore (Pasadena, MD). We'll start getting the outer edges Sunday, but the worst of it shouldn't get to us until late Monday. I'm just hoping it keeps weakening faster than expected, like it is now, so it's not as much of any issue for any part of the East Coast!

We still have a few things to work out - trying to get an ADR for lunch @ SciFi on 12/12. Also trying to plan our last evening. And I need to make DD's autograph book. Exciting!!!! :yay:

I'm hoping that too. They are just so unpredictable.

Well, make sure you get in everything you need and double-check you have flashlights & extra batteries!

I hope it weakens and breaks up fast. Last year so many areas up by me were flooded so badly and so many lost their homes from Irene who was downgraded to a TS by the time it was up here. So many co workers lost so much just because of the inches of rain that came with the storm. I had family up for my daughters birthday from NJ and got horrible reports of the flooding from here to NJ. Mother Nature- I love you but you scare the crap out of me!

WedgieSock- what is the weather like in the UK- would you get any form of a tropical storm or severe weather like that? Just curious - for some reason I just picture it being just cloudy all the time and rainy and foggy but no hurricanes, tornadoes etc....

Aww. That's so sweet. I'm in NYC. I'm hoping it's not too bad, but just bad enough that I can work from home on Monday and Tuesday.

Hope y'all are safe.

Guess what! We took the kids to a community event tonight and I ran into upper management for the position I interviewed, she came up and met my family. She told me that things move slow, but they were certainly moving, and shed be talking to me soon. Sounds good, maybe?

You pretty much summed it up lol - although we don't get much fog, we used to be known for that but it wasn't from mother nature, it was all the smog from the factories back in the victorian times haha.

Our weather is pretty boring - its very changeable, we can go from cold, to overcast, to rainy, to sunny, back to rainy, still overcast, then more rain .... but its never extreme. We don't get extremes, its freakishly rare to die from the weather. Since living here I have seen her in all her awesomeness !

Always good to meet them in a social situation - she'll remember you monday morning ;)

Sounds good!

The pretty amazing part is seeing people rebuild and start all over. The human spirit is amazing.

Aww how nice of the smog factories! I've been semi curious about the UK recently. I never had a huge desire to travel overseas, mostly the idea of flying over an ocean is scary to me - but I think I want to visit the UK when my girls are a little older.

Well, you have an expert at your fingertips here *points enthusiastically at herself :teeth: It has some amazing sights - natural & manmade. If you do, get yourself a bit more connected, find out if you have any family history in the UK (a lot of Americans do - as a hobby i do genealogy for friends) and maybe visit the parts they were from. PM me anytime if you have questions :)

The flight is a breeze - I've done it so often I'm on flight strike!

That is so sweet of you! We are in Richmond, Va and are hoping we are far enough inland that we will be ok. Personally I will be praying for those who will be affected.

I am listening to my favorite Christmas cds on my iPod now. Oh I love Christmas music!!!

Hi Gina - good luck in the house sale... We're 35 days from today too! Awesome game last night, too! Go Giants!

Yep, looking forward to game 3! I do get nervous when we don't have home field advantage although they did so well in the playoffs!

I hope I don't get stoned for this... or better yet, get pelted with Mickey-shaped rocks but am I the only one who doesn't get all decked out in Mickey attire at the parks? I like Mickey stuff, don't get me wrong, but with the exception of a few tee's, they're too cutesy for me... BUT I do like the idea of fleece pants with Mickey heads or something like that for lounging around the house - understated, not full on character pics. Does that make sense? Don't know, I'm really trying to like a lot of the character clothes but even the two thermal shirts I bought were too much... Just wondered if I can still be a Disney fan if I'm not wearing Disney clothes... :guilty:

Ditto, ditto, ditto. I have one cool Disneyland shirt with a peace sign. The peace sign is made up of little Mickey heads that you don't even notice at first. I personally would feel way old wearing the cutesie stuff and I have nowhere else to wear it outside of our Disney vacations.
