Good for you! :thumbsup2

Meh, I treat family drama like a movie - I just observe it and it allow it to entertain me. Whilst they are flapping and gobbing off I'm eating popcorn :teeth: Its really rather therapeutic ;)

HA! My mom is a soap opera all unto herself! I just watch the mess from the sidelines, keep my mouth shut & thank God my life is normal! :rotfl2::lmao::happytv:

So I managed to go all morning without you all tempting me to look at the disney store online. Around 1:30 i buckled when I realized they had some holiday clothing up. :bitelip: I really like the white long sleeved woman's shirt with the red snowflake in the middle. But, the shirts I really want aren't there. so I want to buy......but I want to wait.....but I want to buy....but I want to wait....

FAVORITE show. It is going to be a great season but going to miss Opie. Read an article that because this is the 5th season writer needed to look at the end game because plan is for 7 seasons total. Didn't like to here that :(

Love love love SoA! I have a late flight tonight and I'm bummed that I'll have to wait a week to watch my dvr of tonight's episode. I'll miss Op too. Man last week's episode ended on a cliff. Gahhh!

Apparently I'm making up for the time lost on these threads today but now I want some opinions on my arrival day.

I had planned on doing DTD once we got there, our flight lands at 1:20pm so I was thinking at Pop by 3:30pm at the latest. We were going to have dinner at T-Rex, look around, do a little shopping, etc. Then I realized a lot of the reviews talked about how loud T-Rex is & decided my youngest would probably not do well. So, change of plan to Earl of Sandwich, yum!

But now I'm thinking maybe heading to the MK & having a QS dinner & looking around a bit. Granted it's a MVMCP night so the MK will close at 7pm. Would it even be worth it? Or should we stick to DTD?

By the time I read through the 5 pages since you asked the question, everyone else had pretty much summarized what I was thinking as well. Have both plans but my concern with MK on arrival day (and a 7p.m. close) would be having to end the fun so quickly while watching lots of other people stay.

Good for you! :thumbsup2

If more people could do this, it would be a happier, healthier world. When I go to my parents home, I feel about 12 years old-but hey, perfect for Disney trips.

We will be arriving in Orlando on Dec 19th. We are headed to MVMCP on the 20th! So very excited to enjoy our first Christmas in Disney! We are staying off property in our 5th wheel this time and are looking forward to a magical vacation!

Welcome...We are also going on the 20th of December..Woot Woot:thumbsup2

It's okay. He has already forgotten about the conversation, I'm sure. And I get home from work before him, so I can get the box disposed of and the shirts hanging in the closet before he has a clue. :rotfl2:

Your Christmas gift comment got me thinking and back on the site. There is a little art kit that my niece would love. Her favorite princesses are Belle and Aurora. There is a Cinderella kit, a Minnie kit, a Tink kit, a Merida kit, a Rapunzel kit and a princess kit--with Rapunzel, Pocahontas, Snow White, Ariel, Cinderella and Jasmine. Really???? I mean we are talking $8 so it's not that big of a deal. I just thought it was funny that her 2 faves were not on there at all. I might just get Minnie and avoid the princesses.

Well, if he'll never know the World Showcase shirts are "new" then you DEFINITELY need that sweatshirt :rotfl2:

That makes NO sense that they'd have Cinderella and Merida but not Belle or Aurora. I'd just get the Minnie one too...... Sometimes I'll never understand their thinking!

That sounds like a good idea. Especially since we're planning on a QS meal either way. & that would only be 2 hours in the MK if we're lucky. Epcot is another good idea, lots of awesome QS to choose from there & not as limited on time.

I'd vote for Epcot. You could leisurely stroll around the World Showcase and catch some of Holidays Around the World presentations. Nice, low key evening and you son would probably like seeing so many different Santa Clauses. :santa:

I'd be awfully worried about the little guy not wanting to leave MK after only a couple hours. Tired kid not wanting to leave a park = BIG meltdown!

We are arriving at MCo at 8:30 pm on Dec 1st which is the Christmas parade taping. I had read somewhere that sometime MK stays open later then posted at this time that day. Anyone have insite on this. It is always hard when you get in later to find something besides hangout at OKW to do. Any suggestions would be great.

You definitely need that sweat shirt. It's an investment. By wearing the sweatshirt over the WS t-shirts, you are preserving their new-ness.

I was able to get an ADR for CP for 12/14 at 9:55. That's the same day we are doing Tomorrowland Dessert Party and MVMCP. It's just BF and I. Is that too long of a day?

What's everyone's thoughts? I've been known to spend 12+ hours at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Hi all!

I'm Gretchen. My mom and I will be traveling December 17-21, staying at Wilderness Lodge for the first time-courtyard view.

I did the Disney college program earlier this year, so was there from January-August. We've also been in October, but never December! Very excited for all the holiday stuff! I have a PTR started, link is in my sig, and I'd love it if you'd come read it! :thumbsup2

I don't think so at all! Great score! You can get to MK for rope drop, maybe enjoy a ride or two before your reservation (I'm assuming it's 9:55am, right?)... Nothing says you have to stay at the park all day - you can always take a break and come back before MVMCP - especially if you know it's going to be a long day! We loved our breakfast at CP!

Wow, just got back from being on the Disney Wonder for a week and the new thread is 43 pages in!! Guess I've got some reading to do ... need to see my ticket now to know how much longer until I can get my next Disney fix ... ;)

The good news is while on board I went to some of the DVC presentations ... and at the second one I won $300 On Board Credit (non-refundable use-or-lose). So I got refunded my gratuities, and had some to spare ... after buying DS5 a few toys and smoothies, still had some non-refundable credit leftover. They let me spend it on a few Disney Park gift cards! :woohoo:More for the December trip! Yay! Its so weird coming home from a DCL cruise with more money than I left with ...

Trying to figure out a way to save a bit more money. Had an unexpected expense come up & have to pull some from the trip budget!:scared1:

So my thinking, since my 16 year old is now coming with us, is to not upgrade to the DxDDP & just pay OOP for breakfast each morning. I realize we lose the extra credits & the extra snack but last trip we had 4 snack credits left over & used them on Goofy's Candy Co bags to bring home. We'll also lose our apps with our TS meals but my DH will probably be the only one who cares about that, as long as I get to keep my dessert, i could care less about an app! Or we could pay OOP for 1 or 2 just for him. I already have it QS lunch & TS dinners, so that's no big deal at all. I'll just get rid of one of our 2 TS credit dinners, we have 2 booked.

Anyone know if AllEars menus have the up to date prices on their menus?

If so, I could keep most of our breakfast ADRs:
Crystal Palace
Hollywood & Vine
Tusker House
Akershus
Then we could do 2 QS breakfasts, one at Sunshine Seasons & one at Pop.

With AllEars prices, OOP for breakfasts & even extra snacks, is around $1050-$1100.

To upgrade from DDP to DxDDP it's $1586 for the 6 of us.

WWYD?

If you can do all day at BGW you can definitely do all day at Disney... that is from experience at both! Just take you time at MK don't rush to every attraction.

Also just curious, have you done the new ride at BGW, the one that replaced Big Bad Wolf?? I would really like a review, we are hoping next summer with DD being 3 we can go back to BGW. We both love it and 3 summers without it has been killer.
