That sounds like fun! Tomorrow we are going to a festival at the Shelburne Museum in VT - this years theme Sci Fi :) hoping to beat out the rain!

I love the Philadelphia Zoo - we are talking about going to visit family in the spring and might go there or to the Franklin Institute.

we have a membership to the zoo so we are there ALOT!! My kids love it, and having the membership saves a pretty penny ($18 for adults, $15 for kids, $12 to park) not to mention if you don't take lunch that can add quite a bit to your day

We are getting a membership to an aquarium about 90 miles away. We go out there frequently and it will save us after 3 visits, plus we can go to many museums that are part of the ASTC program, which will be great for our trips to Boston etc....

Wow! Slow moving today! I expected to find at least 10 pages to catch up since we got home.

We took DS10 out to Eastern Long Island for pumpkin picking today. We had so much fun as we do every year at this particular farm. He picked a pretty good size pumpkin. DH and I even did a little wine tasting there as well and found a white wine called Chardonay Ice wine that we really liked. I would have like to pick up a bottle, but we were limited in funds today, so we have to wait.

We also stopped at another farm that bakes their own bread, cookies and pies as well as growing their own vegetables, and making their own apple cider. Once we got out of the car we were greeted with the sweet smell of apple pies baking - Mmmmm, YU!M! DS got a small bag of brownie cookies and DH ordered our Thanksgiving pies - low sugar apple and an apple crumb pie. DS and I can't wait to dig into that apple crumb on Turkey Day!

Right now, we're just relaxing. Of course, I'm here DISing :p, DH is typing up an article for our church's newsletter and DS is playing Mario Party 9 on the Wii. It's been such a long day that I feel like turning in early tonight.

Tomorrow is the calm before Sandy hits. We've been praying that it will lose it's strength and downgrade as well as change direction and go out to sea. Right now, the Weather Channel has us listed as getting 4 to 8 feet of water !

I didn't do much today. Currently sitting in a theater on broadway waiting for a show to start. Then out to dinner. I did start planning my clothes package. And DBF gave me two new Disney shirts for my Bday. A NBC and a M&M.

Mayor Bloomberg isn't calling for evacuations so I guess that's a good sign.

It seems to me that quite a few of you might be affected by this hurricane :sad2:

Do me a favour please. Could you quote this and let me know if it could affect you and whereabouts you are? I just like to know who I need to keep in my thoughts .... I would hate to be frillying around not knowing that someone out there needs my positive vibes.

Thank you :goodvibes

I have cell reception at the cabin! Woohoo! We are in southeast Virginia, and I believe our main concern is tidal flooding. We've had more damage to our house from nor'easters than from hurricanes, but who knows what a hybrid will do! We're heading home tomorrow and we'll do our preps then.

Just booked the rest of our vacation today. Originally were were gonna stay 12/2-12/10 at the ASMv with the dining plan, we have now swapped over to the Princess Tiana rooms at POR and dropped the dining plan.

Kids are getting excited, the wife and I are getting excited. 36 days to go until our vacation starts! :thumbsup2

to all that have been to these resorts, was the upgrade to POR worth it? It just seemed to be located better, where we can access parks and the Boardwalk as opposed to ASMv

Good Saturday evening, DIS'ers! Wow! I can't believe how many of you may be (or already have been affected by Sandy). Sending lots of positive vibes to each of you that you remain safe and have no property damage!

I have had a busy and productive day...football game this morning (too bad we lost), did some Xmas shopping, and even wrapped the presents! Now sitting down with my DD's to watch the new Tinkerebell movie. I was going to save it for Xmas but I know they will want to meet Periwinkle when we are at MK, so I thought it would be fun for them to go ahead and see the movie!

I need to go dig out some warm clothes because my youngest dd is an Ambassador for Arkansas Children's Hospital and we have to make an appearance at a fundraiser at 9:00 am when the expected temp is about 45 degrees. Brrrr!

Happy birthday and yay for new Disney shirts. :)

It was a lazy Saturday here, watching football and just loafing. DH went out tonight with his brother, so I went shopping. I know you are all shocked.;)
Target--got the Minnie slippers I should have gotten on my last trip. Also got the Mickey soap. It is cute, but lemonade is just not what I want my hands to smell like. :confused3 And got peppermint foot lotion for those tired feet at the end of park days.
Bath and Body Works--is it just me or does that store just suck you in?? I dont go often, but when I do, I want everything! But I was good and just got a few things. I got a couple small shower gels for the trip and some pocket hand sanitizer in yummy Christmas scents.
Walgreens---did not have Disney Christmas stuff out yet. :sad1: When I asked, the lady told me to check back after Halloween. Umm....didnt we vote to fast forward through Halloween??? :rotfl2:
Then I did my grocery shopping for the week. I am feeling very productive!

We did the same exact thing.

There are a bunch of people on here that are staying at POR. A lot of them have stayed there before too. I havent been there, but those Royal rooms look so cool!! I think that is a good upgrade because your week is Pop Warner and they stay at the All Star resorts. And you can take the boat to DTD. :thumbsup2

I've heard nothing but great things about POR - we have never stayed there but the princess rooms seem so great especially if you are traveling with a little girl :)

Ok I have a car rental reservation with Enterprise right now, one for a full size and one for a premium. The difference is about 40-50 dollars. What is everyone's thought on the difference in car class?

I would say get the class that you would drive in real life. Unless you wanted to splurge a bit and drive a nicer car on vacation. I got a deal with enterprise for a premium car that was way less than anything else I had seen, so I booked it. We are looking forward to driving in luxury, but I wouldnt have paid extra for it.

Thats where we're staying! We went to AS Movies for our last trip but are really looking forward to being at POR Royal Guest Rooms. POR gets excellent reviews, plus, the whole property had a complete refurb this year :) You should pop over to the POR thread on the resort board. Also, the guy (Andre) who manages that thread has his own website which is a fantastic resource Unofficial Guide to Port Orleans Resort I think you'll love it!

We stayed at POR last Sept and were in a refurbed Mansion room. It was fantastic!! The resort is beautiful and I can't say enough about the boat ride to DTD. Such a nice ride. Andrea's POR thread has great tips and they answer any resort questions very quickly. You can also check out www.portorleans.org ... It's a great source of info

Just sat down to hopefully relax for a bit. I have ten 11-13 year-old girls (not) sleeping upstairs. We took them to a haunted corn maze. Wow, were they scared! Everyone seems to be over it now and laughing. Strictly funny movies allowed after that. I'm hoping no one wakes me up screaming in the middle of the night :-)

looking forward to watching football and reading a good book tomorrow. I've been going nonstop since yesterday afternoon

When we had to deal with the car seat I always paid for the class that guaranteed 4 doors. (Yes, I learned that the hard way.) other than that, I don't feel like it matters.

The calm before the storm?

I've had my map out looking at where the storm is tracking. I have a son that moved a year ago from California to WV and it looks like the will just be getting rain, who knows. :confused3

My DS 12 and I went to Europe in August, I had never really been out of the US. We flew to Barcelona (13 hours!) went to France, through Italy and Croatia. It was fantastic, a great experience! I would love to travel to Austria, the British Isles all throughout the Baltic. Ah, someday.

I used to dread flying to Hawaii or even Florida, 5 hours, but since flying to Europe I think flying to Florida, piece of cake! lol flying from Maui to MCO, wow, that is a long flight!

I actually think living in England would be awesome, there are so many places to travel to and nothing is too far away. Of course I'm not sure, I was born and raised in So Cal.

Well Samantha you write very well and I would have guessed you American, you know with the English and all, haha. Although Canada is suppose to have the best schools in the world, at present time.

I know as far as weather is concerned, I have nothing to complain about, but it is 90 degrees here today, way too hot for me!

It is time for me to hit the gym. Take care everyone :tink:

I agree about living in England. You could hit a different European country every weekend for fun. Do you watch House Hunters International? I am obsessed with that show for that reason.

We are booked for Dec 16-22 at CSR can't wait first Mod Resort and first time at Christmas. I hope it is amazing.:dance3:
