I agree about living in England. You could hit a different European country every weekend for fun. Do you watch House Hunters International? I am obsessed with that show for that reason.

That is something I do miss - we could leave our apartment and be at our hotel room in Amsterdam in less than 2.5hrs. Thats why I have been lucky enough to visit so many countries.

That aspect is cool. The flip side is the expense and size .... our apartment was T-I-N-Y, in the suburbs of London at a cost of $300,000  in London it would have been $500,000. England (population 55million) is a similar size to Georgia (population 9million) Ha!

I love HH International :teeth:

When we had to deal with the car seat I always paid for the class that guaranteed 4 doors. (Yes, I learned that the hard way.) other than that, I don't feel like it matters.

Haha and I got 2!

I would say get the class that you would drive in real life. Unless you wanted to splurge a bit and drive a nicer car on vacation. I got a deal with enterprise for a premium car that was way less than anything else I had seen, so I booked it. We are looking forward to driving in luxury, but I wouldnt have paid extra for it.

We drive a VW Passat normally so I'm guessing its like a full size  I'm just wondering what a premium would be over the full size I guess. I know nothing about cars and DH is not being helpful! $40 isn't too much more if the car would be nicer (DH is a car kinda guy)

(Sigh) so my dog got scared of a pumpkin and smashed my bare foot - now it's swollen :(

Just sat down to hopefully relax for a bit. I have ten 11-13 year-old girls (not) sleeping upstairs. We took them to a haunted corn maze. Wow, were they scared! Everyone seems to be over it now and laughing. Strictly funny movies allowed after that. I'm hoping no one wakes me up screaming in the middle of the night :-)

looking forward to watching football and reading a good book tomorrow. I've been going nonstop since yesterday afternoon

Whew...you are a brave woman.

Anytime we've rented with Enterprise we get the full size and have gotten a free upgrade. Have you ever rented with them before?

So does it drive you crazy when people are looking at homes in Europe or anywhere really and they want an 'open floor plan', or a big 'American kitchen' but they looking at these gorgeous homes with tons of character? I always yell at them ;)

I hope I don't get stoned for this... or better yet, get pelted with Mickey-shaped rocks but am I the only one who doesn't get all decked out in Mickey attire at the parks? I like Mickey stuff, don't get me wrong, but with the exception of a few tee's, they're too cutesy for me... BUT I do like the idea of fleece pants with Mickey heads or something like that for lounging around the house - understated, not full on character pics. Does that make sense? Don't know, I'm really trying to like a lot of the character clothes but even the two thermal shirts I bought were too much... Just wondered if I can still be a Disney fan if I'm not wearing Disney clothes... :guilty:
Nope, I don't really wear shirts that say stuff or have things printed, I'm strictly a solids person. Made an exception one day last year since the DH wanted us to wear Rainbow Muppet shirts for gay days, and on Pirate night on DCL I have a t-shirt that says "pi" like the mathematical sign, rate. You're in good company.
Wow! Slow moving today! I expected to find at least 10 pages to catch up since we got home.
Tomorrow is the calm before Sandy hits. We've been praying that it will lose it's strength and downgrade as well as change direction and go out to sea. Right now, the Weather Channel has us listed as getting 4 to 8 feet of water !
No kidding its quiet here today. I'm accustomed to catching up on 10 pages a day when I check in too. Hopefully everybody is having a fun weekend except for discookiemonsta.

Guess there are all kinds of natural disasters happening. There was a 7.7 earthquake off of the Western Canadian coastline earlier today, so we're waiting to see whether there'll be a tsunami tonight at 10:30p or not in Hawaii. :crazy2:

We have but never got an upgrade. I had a coupon code but I couldn't even get a full size with it.

Hope you are ok - I just saw that the waves were not as big as expected - hopefully it will stay that way. We're getting hit on both coasts
Stay safe everyone. Come on Mother Nature - get back to nice fall weather. :grouphug:

Crazy. I haven't looked at the news but 7.7 is pretty substantial :(

Morning all! Hope everyone is safe and well this morning. Sandy is starting to be felt here in Maryland, though only drizzles so far in rain. Mostly wind is really picking up fast and the Chesapeake Bay is very choppy already. Thankfully our generator is filled and we have lots of extra gasoline in cans in case we lose power in the next 3 days while its hitting us.

Morning all, it's gonna be an interesting next few days. This morning we are finishing prepping here at the house for Sandy and getting DH ready for his run today. He needs to head to Mass to deliver lube oil tomorrow morning at 7. So we are packing him extra food and clothes in case he can't get home tomorrow (which hopefully will not be the case). It's not doing much here yet but you can feel something's coming. Good luck to all ahead of us in her path. I should be able to keep on here with my phone as long as cell service isn't interrupted.

OK there is where I get nervous. I was in 2 major earthquakes -one when I was living in San Francisco and one when I was in Los Angeles for the weekend. Scariest moments of my life when you are in a building that is swinging after no warning.

Hahaha yes! Open-floor plan in Europe is called a bedsit (one room) and are tiny. And a big American Kitchen is only happening if you by a restaurant :lmao:

Good morning everyone :)

Morning all,

Things are crazy here. Lots of people looking at our house- real estate agents coming over with little or even no notice which pisses me off! But i have to calm down because I think we are going to have multiple offers. One agent even called me to ask about making an early offer and he hadn't even showed the house to his clients yet!

Now if only we had a house to move into!!!:rotfl:
