Hmmm what does he like to do? Maybe not a traditional gift but a surprise date day with all his favorites included?

I took him to see Book of Mormon for his birthday. I could do another Broadway show, or maybe arrange to get a group together for karaoke one night.

I just want something for him to open that will wow him, but won't cost me too much money. Even his ex-gf who we're friends with says he's impossible to shop for. I'm hoping I can find something while we are at Disney. He buys everything he wants and the things he hasn't bought yet are out of my budget this year. :(

I am jealous of those of you there on Dec 6th. Look at all the merch available on that day. I want that EAR HAT!!! They will LONG be sold out by the time I get there the next week.

Wow I love the Cottage print and the shirt and I would love love to get the pins now to convince DH we need it!

My ticker is under 2 weeks!!!:yay:

Except for the final packing I think I'm done. I wanted to print out the DAtW passport but I can't find card stock in anything less than packs of 100.

I wonder if Staples Copy center will sell me a couple of blank sheets.

I've posted this question over on the CBR thread, but it doesn't move as fast as this one does!

My mom does not want to carry a bunch of smaller bills on her when we leave on Thursday. She has a few large bills and was wondering where she can go to break them down into smaller bills. I think it would be better for her to go to the bank and have it broken down before we go, but she doesn't want to do that. Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you so much! We were thinking of going Tuesday through Friday. Since we'll be paying for transportation to the hotel from the airport, we definitely want a place that is across the street from the parks. I am totally copying your post and putting it with my DL stuff.

No Problem! It was a great trip, and since DTD and both parks are all right next to each other park hopping was a breeze!

One other thing, even if it's more expensive, fly into SNA (Orange County/John Wayne). It's WAY closer to DL than LAX and much smaller and easier to navigate.

Haha, I did survive. Although you might not have known that if you saw me yesterday morning.

It was an awesome day. We went and played paintball in the morning, and hit a few bars along the way to a really spectacular craft beer dinner up in the mountains.

After we got back into the Philly area, we spent the night at Barcade, an awesome bar that has a ridiculous amount of vintage arcade games.

Needless to say, I may have been a tttaaadddd intoxicated by the end of the night.

Totally worth it though.

FOUR days until the wedding, and we are officially in panic mode.

Haha, I'll keep everyone posted.

Congrats on surviving the bachelor party. Sounds like an awesome day. I never heard of a "barcade", but whoever conceived it is a genius. Good luck for the rest of the week.

I think the only reason we are going on the 6th is so I can buy stuff!!! :hyper:

I think that's why we planned our whole trip. Just to get down there and buy stuff and flaunt it to our friends and relatives and say "Neener neener neener... Look what I got."

------

Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day and that no one got any permanent scarring on Black Friday. BDLsgal and I had a pretty busy weekend. We had 2 dinners on Thursday (1 at each of our families) and then watched the Pats crush the Jets :happytv: . Friday, we helped BDLsgal's family put up their Xmas lights and we won trivia night at my Elks lodge (we were the team MVP's) . Saturday, even though hockey is on hold, as Season ticket holders, we got a tour of the Bruins' locker room and out picture taken with the 2011 championship banner. Then we grabbed lunch at Faneuil Hall Market. Sunday was a day of rest and non-stop Hallmark Channel Christmas movies :santa: , until Once Upon A Time and Revenge came on.

It may sound busy, but it was pretty relaxing.

And now, I'm here at work, looking at weather.com's 10 day forecast to figure out how to pack. :laundy:

Ohhh... And yes... I am a little bit more than antsy. And YES... I did start clapping and smiling hysterically when I saw Santa at the end of the Macy's parade.

Here's hoping they have plenty

I like the phone cases! Those you can order online starting the 6th.

I'd travel with smaller bills...only because she might need them for tipping (skycap, bell services, etc) early in the trip.

If she's dead set against it...the front desk at our hotel has always been willing to break larger ($50, for us) bills down into smaller denominations. I'm not sure how enthusiastic they'd be if handed a large amount of money, all at once, and asked to perform that courtesy (they may not mind at all..not sure)...but they may be willing to do it, in small quantities, on a daily basis.

Aaaaaaaak! The 3' and 2' trees on Amazon Prime are all sold out!

Ok, where's that hyperventilating emoticon?

Well, I shelled out the $30 for 2-day shipping. I didn't really have any other option. And I couldn't forgo the tree at this point.

Anyone planning a late start to AK? It's an option for us if we need it. The thought of not being there for RD scares me but I get cranky when I'm tired :rotfl:

There is very little we absolutely HAVE to do at AK. I want to see the bird show, Nemo show and ride EE. Everything else will be a bonus. I'd love to see the Lion King show again and I could do the Safari again but other than that, it should be an early day for us. I feel like I have to be there at RD to make sure we can schedule in the shows before our 1pm Yak & Yeti ADR.

The bird show? You don't mean Pocahontas and her Forest Friends, do you?

Because, um...they stopped doing that show in 2008. :(

Hopefully, you mean Flights of Wonder. :)

Did you try Michael's or another craft store? They tend to sell sheets individually or in smaller packs

I'm sure she means Flights of Wonder. Scheduling all the shows at AK can tricky. But AK is a 1 1/2 day park for us. We like to spend a lot of time with the animals.

Yup, I suffixed my post with just that.

Probably flights of wonder.

Joanns sells it, in individual sheets, with their scrapbooking paper.

Might find a small, local, scrapbooking store that does the same, too.

DL isn't nearly as complicated as a trip to WDW. It drove me BONKERS because it was entirely too easy to plan :rotfl:

I found the best deal on the hotel by far from booking directly through Best Western. You do want to price out booking everything separately vs. booking a package deal for air/hotel. Also, check Costco and AAA for travel packages or deals on tickets if you are a member, sometimes they have really good deals for DL. Super Shuttle had by far the cheapest rate to get to/from the airport, especially if you use the coupon code they always have in the Entertainment books.

We live in KC, so are on Central time. By taking a 6 am flight and factoring in the time change (back 2 hours) we were able to get checked into the hotel and to the park gates by 10:30 in the morning, so you can get an entire extra park day in without adding an extra night at the hotel if you're willing to get up early and sleep on the plane.

The DL forum here has a ton of wonderful information, and everything I couldn't figure out from the info here I found on Touring Plans.

Oh, and avoid weekends if at all possible. The Thurs and Fri we were there the place was virtually deserted, but the Sat. was wall to wall people with insane waits for everything by 10:30 in the morning!

Has anyone used super shuttle to get from airport to an off site Orlando hotel? We're still trying to figure out best/cheapest way to get from MCO to Royal Pacific Resort.
