Yes. She was wondering who would be the first of us to "fly the nest". We're leaving on Thursday and arriving at MCO at 12:15. Phoenix has us beat with arriving at 9:10 am on that day; the same time as our flight leaves NY.

Dis Buddies, I present to you our newest fur baby, DOBBY (the House Corgi)!

We picked him up on Black Friday (7 hours round trip in a car, one dog going down there and two coming back, hope to NEVER have to repeat that!), and he has been terrorizing the house ever since.

4 grown adults over the age of 30 sat down to decide on a name and we picked one from Harry Potter Mom and I being English teachers wanted something out of British literature seeing as how the breed originated in Wales, and Dad said we should name him Dobby after the House Elf because of his big ears.

He's pretty much the reason I haven't been posting much the past week. I'd rather forgotten how big a PITA baby puppies are. After getting up 4 times in the middle of the night last night to take the little dude outside for potties (in the freezing weather) he ceased being quite so cute

Oh, his ears aren't up yet. Too cute!

Mine is also named from HP - Lily because she's a redhead.

Have you tried Staples or Office Max? I was looking about a week ago and saw smaller packs there, but they are pricey b/c IIRC, they're the Avery brand.

If you were closer (like in Suffolk County), I'd give you some of ours. DH bought a whole ream of white cardstock a few years ago and we still have plenty left.

I was in Nassau County on Thursday and Friday! But we didn't get out by the shops.

My local Walmart and Target have both started carrying good quality card stock too, so if there is one of those close by try them. My closest Walmart actually just added about 4 aisles of crafting supplies and I got some card stock there.

Neither is easy. Target is just as difficult as Michael's. They say you can find anything in NYC. This is true, I can find anything. But I just don't have the time to run to different parts, on the other side of the city.

It's not important enough for me to stress over.

Good luck with getting up so often. Just remember in a few months he will be able to hold it all day, and you'll miss when he was so tiny! Glad he is working out well. How is he getting along with your other dog?

He's 8 weeks old, and by the time my Brittany, Wesson, was 12 weeks old I was only having to let him out once a night, so I figure if I can just survive from now until our WDW trip we should be set with the night time potty routine. And it's a small price to pay for having something so incredibly cute and fluffy to play with that gives loads of baby puppy kisses

Wesson is happy to have another dog in the house, but he's pretty disgusted with Dobby because he's so little. Wesson's a BIG Brittany from a hunting line, and Dobby weighs about 7 pounds right now, so when Wesson tries to play chase with Dobby, the little dude freaks out at the huge freight train of a dog coming at him. And you can tell Wesson's totally irritated that Dobby doesn't understand the dog routine in our house. In a few months when Dobby's grown up quite a bit I'm sure Wesson will like him a lot more! Now the cats haven't deigned to sit on our laps or purr once since we brought him home

Love the name!! What a cute puppy! There's a reason puppies are so cute. When they make you mad, you just look at that face and don't feel so mad anymore. Maybe just a tad mad.

That's too funny - we have a matching set of HP Corgis! Great minds think alike

His ears have just started coming up. It's funny - one minute they are up and the next they are down. His breeder said she's never bred a puppy that has had to have his ears taped, and I'm praying Dobby isn't the exception to that!

I have a similiar issue with fostering kittens. Once they have their first shots I start letting them around my cats to get socialized, and it took a while for my cats to learn that little kittens can't play as rough as their siblings. They are actually pretty good with them now though! I'm sure Wesson will learn to be gentler, and Dobby will realize he doesn't have to fear Wesson!

Congrats on surviving the bachelor party. Sounds like an awesome day. I never heard of a "barcade", but whoever conceived it is a genius. Good luck for the rest of the week.

Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day and that no one got any permanent scarring on Black Friday. BDLsgal and I had a pretty busy weekend. We had 2 dinners on Thursday (1 at each of our families) and then watched the Pats crush the Jets . Friday, we helped BDLsgal's family put up their Xmas lights and we won trivia night at my Elks lodge (we were the team MVP's) . Saturday, even though hockey is on hold, as Season ticket holders, we got a tour of the Bruins' locker room and out picture taken with the 2011 championship banner. Then we grabbed lunch at Faneuil Hall Market. Sunday was a day of rest and non-stop Hallmark Channel Christmas movies , until Once Upon A Time and Revenge came on.

It may sound busy, but it was pretty relaxing.

And now, I'm here at work, looking at weather.com's 10 day forecast to figure out how to pack.

Ohhh... And yes... I am a little bit more than antsy. And YES... I did start clapping and smiling hysterically when I saw Santa at the end of the Macy's parade.

How many in your group?

We have 6. Tiffany Towncar quoted us $135, which includes from MCO to HRH, and then HRH to Animal Kingdom Lodge the next day (with 30 min grocery stop on the 2nd leg).

One way might be cheaper.

Just two of us! I'm having a Walmart order delivered so I won't need any food type items although a nice bottle of wine would be good!

I've been really, really looking forward to seeing the MK show where Cindy's castle gets all lit up. You know? The show that has Mickey and gang wondering how they should decorate the castle for Christmas and then Cindy and Charming come out and well, you know the rest...

I've looked on MK's daily calendar for the show time and either, I'm confusing it with something else or I just don't find it! But then on days with MVMCP I see something that could be it... please tell me the show isn't done only on MVMCP nights?

Is it part of Wishes?

Anyone planning a late start to AK? It's an option for us if we need it. The thought of not being there for RD scares me but I get cranky when I'm tired

I am, I believe it might even be the same day as you....... staying up late for those MK EMH.

There's just no way I'm going to get three teenagers out of bed by 8 that morning. I think it will be kind of fun staying late- I've never seen AK after dark. The only anxiety I really have about it is that while Josh (and most other calendars) have it at average crowds, TP has it at a 7-8. But I just don't see how they arrive at that. So I'm going for it.

Flights of Wonder.....is that having to do with birds? In any case that's the one. We've not seen it before.

It's a really great show. I'm not much for animal shows but we didn't have anything better to do last time and we went. It was fantastic!

Speaking of animals, my dear old Newfoundland/Golden Retriever mutt dog (she's a tad bit bigger than that cutie Corgi of M&MGirl1's) has a torn ACL. We are supposed to leave exactly two weeks after her surgery day. The vet says we can put it off, but I just can't see that, she's limping around so pitifully. We have a house/pet sitter who stays here, but I'm pretty worried something will happen while we're gone. Sigh. It's always something around here.

We are staying offsite but was thinking of doing "one more disney day" at an onsite hotel. Regretably I cant make preplan this and wont be able to purchase the room till a day or to before (looking to stay the night if the 9th) so I have a couple of questions.

Is it possible to get a discount for a last minute room? Trial runs show I would have to pay regular rack rate.

I'm sorry about your dog!!! Whenever I've gone away (and I still had pets) I'd let my vet know that I would be gone and would settle any bills that occurred during my absence. Thankfully I never needed to, but it made me feel better knowing they would still be taken care of.
