You are from Notting Hill?! Like the movie? :lovestruc

Yes, just like the movie and I knew the family that lived in *that* house ... fans would knock on the door day and night, it was the only blue door. SO, they changed the door, to a brown one like most of the others but that didn't help - a true fan could sniff the house out :rotfl: I actually lived in the next street so yes, I lived right in the thick of London.

It was a lot of fun when that was being filmed, I have fond memories :goodvibes

This will be our first family trip! I cannot wait! We arrive Dec8th staying in a 2 bedroom villa at VWL! It will be me, DH,DS4,DS5,mom, dad, sister. I've done so much research I think I'm ready! I cry whenever I watch clips of the decorations! Cannot wait!!!!:rotfl:

Sweet!! Welcome to our Roll Call! I hope to stay at VWL in the future.

Please add me to the list for Decemeber! Arriving Dec 8th, OKW. :) Attending the Christmas party on the 11th. 2yo Daughters first haircut on the 11th as well. :) Just me, my wife and our daughter. :woohoo:

We are going to the MVMCP on the 11th AND having our 2 year old's first haircut that day as well! Hoping DD cooperates! What time is your appt? How funny if we are there the same time!

You guys are both added to the Roll Call. For those attending MVMCP, sign your name to the google spreadsheet. Info in post #2, MVMCP section

I love London! Such a fun city. Most of my favorite bands are British too!

The suspense would be killing me! You and Tltorrez are in the same boat though. Two plans, no answers yet ...
.

I think Valgoof has it worse. In 17 days at least I * know* I'm getting on a plane to Disney. Not sure who's coming with or what I'll do when I get there, but I know where and when I'm going.

I also know where I'm staying. Not here: http://i49.tinypic.com/n6x6kj.jpg

Morning my December friends.

One more chilly morning, one more check mark on the calendar.

Just ten more shifts at work, and I'll be starting my vacation.

That sounds a lot better than 16 days. :)

I told my boss this morning it was 9 workdays. And that includes 2 early dismissals. :)

Very true, fingers crossed Valgoof can get all this finalised on Monday pixiedust:

Laws? What kind of laws .... sorry, I'm waving my foreigner card here, I have no clue.

There was a whole bit on Rachel Maddow the other day about all the states that have crazy liquor laws. I think PA's state stores rank right behind Utah for insane control.

I've been reading some reviews about MVMCP on the MVMCP thread. Every party has been sold out so far! :scared:
Like everything else, some people go with the flow and others say they wouldn't do it again.

Although I'm hoping the crowds are less on our night, we'll adapt. We just want to take in the atmosphere. We'd like to see some of the unusual characters but will move on & do more rides if the lines are too long (which is more than 15-20 minutes for us). The parade & fireworks are our must-dos :santa:

Do they normally mostly sell out? The MNSSHP doesn't except close to Halloween.

FYI for anyone who's interested, AoA is completely booked for Dec 14-21...both in the LM rooms, plus all the suites. I'm starting to get a little worried about the bussing situtation.

I'm pretty sure PA is the only state that does it, but I could be wrong

No, there are others. Although its pretty extreme. Utah is worse, of course.

In MD we can buy from privately-owned stores but not grocery stores. In VA practically anyone can sell alcohol.

And here in Montgomery County they heavily restrict what can be purchased for distribution (even by bars). So we have to go to DC for anything remotely interesting. But that's just our county.

I lived in PA for a while and remember trying to remember to get beverages on Saturday for Sunday festivities. Or else someone would need to drive to NJ or DE

Here in NC the liquor stores (ABC stores) are state run. We can buy beer & wine pretty much anywhere though

A lot of New England still has "Blue Laws". I remember when we lived in Boston and couldn't buy beer on Super Bowl Sunday. Some counties her in MD you can buy beer and wine but not liquor.

Thanks. It feels weird to not be getting excited and doing all the little things that need done. I decided I am waiting until I know what is happening, so I have not glanced at the schedule all week. And of course, no shopping. I did go grocery shopping today and got some toiletry stuff for the trip.

I agree, Terri. I am not staying there either. :lmao:

JUST A VENT/RANT:furious: I hate this week:furious: Why you may ask well in Wisconsin it is Deer Hunting. This is the first year that DS is going and it is always crazy. Where is this, I can't find that, I need this(words out of DH mouth). I want to yell "You don't left a finger when it is me getting ready for vacation or skiing but you expect me to drop everything to find your stuff. I took off next year and doing a cruise with BFF and her son and myself and DD so we don't have to be around this craziness. OK done ranting and on to reading more on disboards.

I grew up north of Pittsburgh where the first day of deer season was an unofficial school holiday. Know that season well. I even participated for a few years with my Dad.

Why do you need a pet? We call our DD8 Pudge!! Her name is Paige and she is a skinny mini! But it just comes out so easily!

So cute... DDs nickname is Belle, which is shortened version of Annabelle and Tower of Terror just depends if she is being good or bad at the time. LOL.

So my FIL called someone to take a look at the burner. Turns out that it needed some parts replaced, which was done, and now we have heat again :cool1:! We spent 2 nights over at my mom's while my FIL was trying to figure out what the problem could be.

FIL even went so far as to break open a section of the wall in the living room where the chimney is. He and his father constructed something to help with the burner and chimney (don't ask, it's too complicated for me to understand). When he was done, there on the cement was the family last name and 1957-58 written in pencil, which is when they had constructed it this thing (DH's dad bought this house in 1954). Well it turns our that he didn't need to open the wall in the first place. If he had just called the burner guy, he could have avoided all of that un-necessary work :headache: Knowing him, it's going to be a while before he's able to patch it up. On the brighter side, DH was thinking of hiding it by "wrapping" that wall with wrapping paper as part of the Christmas decoration :rotfl2: Love you Dear!

Glad you have heat back, even if it comes with a hold in the wall! I like your DHs plan until it can get patched. I once had a hole in my wall (courtesy of my Ex-BF's temper) and had a poster over it for a year before it was finally fixed by my landlord. :rotfl:

This will be our first MVMCP and I can't wait! They had me at snow on Main Street! We did MNSSHP last year and had a blast. We did a few character meets - mainly the villians who are not normally out - but the party atmosphere was just fun. I think MVMCP will be the same - even if it sells out.

So, I woke up at 5:00 am wondering if I should have booked Royal rooms at POR. Don't know why I'm suddenly waffling. Any of you ever stay at CSR and POR who can compare the two?

Just because I worry about these things, I hope everyone knows what the "snow" really is, right? It's a type of bubbles, almost like dish liquid, so don't try to catch those snowflakes on your tongue, they won't taste very good! :crazy2:

I wouldn't worry too much. Since they know it's sold out they will add extra buses to the rotation.

All this talk about cute pet names makes me wish we had one... Maybe we can get a fish and name him pudge. (Hope I spelled that right)

We took a long time choosing a name for our corgi pup. Finally chose Lily because she's a redhead.

Up until recently you could not buy alcohol on Sundays in GA but thats been dropped now.

I would be interested to see alcohol-related stats on the States with harsh drinking laws.
