Glad you have heat back, even if it comes with a hold in the wall! I like your DHs plan until it can get patched. I once had a hole in my wall (courtesy of my Ex-BF's temper) and had a poster over it for a year before it was finally fixed by my landlord.



Just because I worry about these things, I hope everyone knows what the "snow" really is, right? It's a type of bubbles, almost like dish liquid, so don't try to catch those snowflakes on your tongue, they won't taste very good!

Monday. DH's boss was out earlier this week and today he is meeting with big wigs about the expansion, so DH will talk to him on Monday and figure out for sure what is going to happen. I dont know if they will make him change his vacation this close, but he thinks they will. He did confirm that someone has his week off, but no one has the week before, so he would be able to switch with no problem.

ETA: just talked to DH. He says his boss wont know on Monday. He will have to talk to corporate and get it figured out. I guess I thought we were further along in the process than we are.

Last August my brother and I had a cross country road trip and after an all day drive, we stopped somewhere in Arkansas. For the final few hours before then, my brother kept going on and on about how he wanted to get to a hotel and go find a bar.

We check into the hotel and he asks the clerk where the nearest bar is. They informed us it was a "dry county" Oh the look on his face!

I had never heard of a "dry county" before that. It's absolutely crazy!

Oh yes, there are quite a few dry counties in Arkansas. You will also notice a lot of "Last Stop" Liquour stores at county lines. And, all but one city has blue laws, so you have to buy your Sunday beer on Saturday! We also have a state law that prohibits the sale of wine in grocery stores - UNLESS it is wine made at the one winery in the state.

I didn't think anyone thought it was real snow, but wanted to make sure people knew what it IS, since kids especially may try to "catch" the snowflakes on their tongue and be disappointed and a little grossed out!

and as Josh @ easywdw pointed out, try not to get any "snow" on your camera lens because it'll be a pain to clear away.

Isnt Lucius another name for Satan?? My dog was named Princess Leia. It drove me nuts when the vet would spell it, Leah. My dad always wanted to get a big dog and name it Chewbacca, but it never happened.

My aunt named her Akita/German Shepard Leia. As far as I know the Satanic derivation is "Lucifer". Lucius is the Roman form of it, which early Christians would have considered devilish certainly. Italians often use Lucian, it gets Anglicized into Lucas, or Luke. I guess that would violate my no-naming-children-names-the-general-population-will-misspell-rule though (after a lifetime of my name, I wanted stuff that was easy to spell and pronounce). Though I named my son Samuel, and Disney still insists on spelling it "Samual" for no apparent reason.
You would think Leia would be easy and common!

Lots of talk about cool Star Wars names .... sadly my DD has named most of the pets in the house so they have girlie names. Hmmmm, the parakeets are all edible: Banana, Blueberry, Cupcake, Marshmallow

I had 3 bunnies. Fluffernutter, Peanut Butter, and Jelly. Nutter was colored so he looked like a fluffernutter sandwich pulled apart, his brother Butter looked like peanut butter, then I we got a 3rd who was blueish so he got named Jelly.

That's pretty cute! Just hope you don't have any cats because your birds and bunnies sound delicious!

Happy Friday!! I have no plans for the weekend. I think I am going car shopping with my brother tomorrow. DH and I will probably see the James Bond movie. I want to see Wreck It Ralph sometime too.

I was raised on Ian Fleming novels (for some reason my dad thought they'd be great primers for me), and really enjoyed the new James Bond. But Wreck It Ralph really was a fantastic movie, so if I had a choice between the two, I'd say go for Wreck It Ralph ... I may even take DS6 a second time before our trip.

One thing I need to do this weekend, is find the ingredients for the dessert I want to make (saw it on the Swan & Dolphin Recipe List) and go to the orchard and buy cider for my daughters Pre K and apples for us...

That does look wonderful! One of my favorite things to make before the holidays is pumpkin rolls, not in small part because I can make it a week before, then freeze, then just serve when the holiday rolls around. And they are delicious!

I'm pretty sure PA is the only state that does it, but I could be wrong

A few people pointed out that Utah is also terrible. It is such a strange frame of mind when you go from a state that has very few liquor laws, to one that is heavily restricted. I still remember moving from Hawaii to Michigan and them telling me I couldn't buy liquor on my midnight grocery shopping runs because they couldn't sell it after 10p. Here you only have to stop serving at 2a ...

JUST A VENT/RANT I hate this week Why you may ask well in Wisconsin it is Deer Hunting. This is the first year that DS is going and it is always crazy. Where is this, I can't find that, I need this(words out of DH mouth). I want to yell "You don't left a finger when it is me getting ready for vacation or skiing but you expect me to drop everything to find your stuff. I took off next year and doing a cruise with BFF and her son and myself and DD so we don't have to be around this craziness. OK done ranting and on to reading more on disboards.

Lol I'm not familiar with the deer hunting craze, but I love it that other people's DH's expect them to find stuff, too ... seriously, our men just can't find anything, even if its exactly where they left it ...

I think Valgoof has it worse. In 17 days at least I * know* I'm getting on a plane to Disney. Not sure who's coming with or what I'll do when I get there, but I know where and when I'm going.

I'm heading to Park City, Utah, tonight to keep my mom company, then the Bay Area, California for another preliminary qualifying test for a job on Monday, then flying home on Thursday, which will give me one week to pack! If nothing else with all this flying I'm hoping I'll be immune to all the plane germs on the way to Orlando in two weeks!

Here's my dilemma.....I want the eggs and pancakes AND Tonga Toast from Kona......I think dh should order the Big Kahuna and I'll order the Tonga Toast.....but then he wants the TT too! We actually have two ADRs there so there won't be any bickering

I am under no illusions about those late EMHs- I might be able to hide it from the kids (they're teens) except that, unfortunately, we'll be in those parks for other reasons and I doubt very much I'll be able to get them to leave. So I'm just planning for late starts the day after.....

PA has state run liquor stores, and they have weird hours, though some are now allowed to open on Sundays. You have to go to a distributor for beer and wine coolers. We drive to DE for our alcohol, it cheaper (they don't sell Shiner Bock in PA either) and we can get it all in one spot

We stock up on Yingling (sp)? When we're back at dh's hometown in Ohio. Can't get it here in MO!

Good morning! Parent-teacher conference day today, so the kids are out of school. After I conference with DD's teacher, we are going to head over to BRU to get a car seat travel bag. On our last trip, Southwest broke DD's car seat, so I'm hoping this will protect it. Old Navy is in the same shopping center, so I might head in there to check out their Disney shirts.

We are watching The Incredibles tonight. We're having hero subs (Firehouse) and Frozone milkshakes.

Three weeks from today we are boarding a plane! (Trying not to let anxiety overtake me. I hate flying. )

I flew last June to Cali but before than it hadn't been since the week before 911! I needed a Bloody Mary (it was morning).

Is that the big tree I saw when we were in Chicago a couple weeks ago? It was a huge tree in the middle of a square. It was a block or two from the condo which was on the corner of W Randolph and State Street. I was betting it was part of the ChristKindal (sp again) thing I read about!

Me either! Still only one F! on our DHS day, with an 8pm park close. The only change I saw on our days is MK opens at 8am Sunday - the day we have 7:45am breakfast at Ohana!

Our plan is for me to get the macadamia nut pancakes, and she'll get her own entree. Then we split the Tonga Toast.
