PART FOUR!! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

Okay, I need opinions. I'm thinking about adding a second MVMCP to my trip. :santa: I really want to be able to see all of the characters, the parade and the fireworks, and I know that's pretty much impossible with only one party to go to. I'm thinking of adding it to my first day. I wouldn't be able to enjoy the entire party, since I have a CRT ADR at 6:55pm that I AM NOT cancelling, but I'll still be able to do some characters after dinner and every one I get done is one less that I have to worry about on Sunday night.

Any opinions?

Will you be able to stay up that late after a day of traveling? If so, I'd say go for it! That first night after your ADR you could knock out the parade and fireworks easily and some of the characters with smaller lines. Then you can line up first thing at the second party for the more popular characters.

If you were only planning to go to the park that afternoon for the ADR you could drop a day from your passes and just use the MVMCP ticket to get in at 4 pm, which might save you some money (although if you are going to be there any length of time the savings is likely negligible).

I definitely could stay up that late with no trouble. I average 4 hours of sleep a night normally, so getting back to POP around 1am and getting up at 7am wouldn't be an issue for me. I think I'm going to do it! As you said, just doing the parade, wishes and a few characters will make the next one more managable. :goodvibes

I probably won't drop a day off my ticket, as it would only save me $12 and I could use that ticket for my last day if I want since I won't have to be on ME until 3pm.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: ETA: laughter is for the names of the soap opera, not the situation.

In my saga hubby decided it was too much to try to take MIL this trip, Christmas week, late in the game. Instead, shes going to stay with us a few days before, house sit our house (yeah!) and then stay with us a few days after we get back. We will have a big ole Christmas dinner with her on the 23rd, and swap family gifts. That is AWESOME b/c now I dont have to pay to board three dogs and a hamster, or airport parking. :yay:

That sounds like a great plan. Still get to visit with MIL and get a housesitter! :cool1:

Our Mickey mail came this morning. DD4 was home sick from school when it came. As we were driving to pick DS3 up from preschool, I said "Max will be so excited when he hears that we got mail from Mickey Mouse today." DD4 said "yeah, but not the real Mickey Mouse." I said "what do you mean?", and she said "That was the Fed Ex man who brought the mail, Mommy." :rotfl2: (Our Mickey mail was forwarded by a TA.) So apparently she thinks that I'm unobservant enough to mistake the Fed Ex man for Mickey Mouse.

LOL :lmao:
Too cute!

FYI - if you take it to a good repair shop, they will work with the adjuster on your behalf to do it right. And the payment will go directly to them so you're not in the middle. I would find a good auto body shop before working with the insurance. that's what we did when our almost new Lexus go hit. We found a high-end body shop and they took care of it.

We did the same thing, but our dealer was an authorized service station. It was wonderful to not need to deal with any of the money. Especially since the cost crept up a few times - it seemed that every time they took a piece off to repair or replace they found another problem :headache:

If I had the time I would totally add a 2nd party :santa: I would do the shows, parade, fireworks for one and characters for the other, filling in with short ride lines

When I was fired from my last job, my boss couldn't even do it to my face. He called me on my cell phone on Friday night when I was on my way home. I got 14 weeks of severance and unemployment. It upset my world at the time but it allowed me to make some much needed changes too.

On the Frankenstorm Sandy front - DBF's parents on Long Island still don't have power. Thankfully they can stay with her mom who only lives a few miles away.

DBF just texted me that we're going to miss his office's Holiday party since we'll be in Disney. He's so happy that we won't be there since it's a jacket and tie required event.

I'm working from home today since when I got into the office our phones and network were down. So they sent me home for phone coverage off site. Nice benefit of working in my jammies on the couch.

We will be there Dec 12th-Dec 19th at POR RGR! Can't wait - 29 days away! (Please add me to the list) :santa:

I don't understand people. It's sad that there are so many out there like that. Hopefully they better themselves and if not, ehh karma materializes itself in a variety of ways!

So true

Cowards. And I love working from home.

agree! We did the Halloween party and I would have loved more time

OK, silly question time.... I think I already know the answer to this question, but here goes.

I would like to purchase a couple of the Disney gift cards they sell at Target to use while at Disney World, because I hate to carry a lot of cash around. Are the gift cards like any other gift card where I can keep using it until it is all used up? Or is it a gift card you can use only once? Thanks in advance!

I'm going to do it. As you said, I'll do the shows, parade, fireworks that night, with some short character lines too, then I can just focus on characters the second night. :thumbsup2:goodvibes:santa:

Just like any gift card, use it as many times as it takes to use it all up! :goodvibes

That might not be such a bad idea. Buy some gift cards to try to keep my spending in check and so I don't have to carry my other cards.

Ok now I am feeling guilty. Just talked to DH again. He has agreed to not hit the panic button until the first of the year. Also agreed to go to Disney (still dependent on his job). His request was to choose ADRs at lower priced places so the tip isnt so high. I said I would cancel Ohana for sure. Goodbye bread pudding. The guilt part is that we are staying at Pop. Free dining is for counter service. I paid to upgrade to regular dining. So I know I could downgrade and get that $200 back, which would pay for breakfast and extra snacks or whatever. DH has no clue about this. He thinks free dining was the regular. That was a detail that never got clarified. :goodvibes. Crap. As I type this, I know I am going to switch it. I am keeping Le Cellier though. And maybe Sanaa. :rolleyes1

Wait a minute......if you are only saving $200 you won't be saving very much money (Le Cellier will cost you guys pretty much....not sure how much Sanaa will be). Maybe you should keep the regular dining?

FYI: If anyone was looking for Crystal Palace who is arriving at the end of this month, I just saw a Crystal Palace opening at 4pm on 11/29 for at least 4 people (could be more, that was what I was looking for to help a friend). Thought someone here might be interested! :goodvibespooh::tigger::eeyore:

Thank you! I figured, but would hate to use it on something small and not use it all up :)

Exactly! We plan to not charge a thing this trip. I will be using my checkcard but also have the cash from the overtime I have been doing at work and I don't feel like carrying $500 around, not to mention at the airport and in the cab from my house to the airport. :)

One of my earliest memories is being in a local park and feeding some ducks and geese at their pond. When we ran out of bread we started walking back to our car and the 4 geese followed us and attacked my parents, me and my little sisters, who were only 1 and 4 at the time! They continued attacking the car after we all got in, and thankfully a park ranger came over and scared them off so we could leave. :scared1:

When my kids were little we lived in an historic home in the middle of one of our city's parks. The house was built in 1877 and the park was built around it ;) Anyway there was a huge lake in the middle of park, right by our house. There were geese all over the place and I remember a specific instance where one KEPT ME HOSTAGE IN MY CAR! :scared1: They were so mean!!!!! I was so skeered!

That house sounds amazing!! Well with the exception of the monster geese! Lol

They are scary especially when guarding a nest. And they can bite and break bones. And don't get me started on the goose droppings all over my yard and driveway.
