Yay!! Part 5!!

I just got home from work, did the dishes, sorted the mail. Wrapped a holiday gift for the DBF that is an early present. It's in his stocking and I'm going to tell him it's from Mickey when he finds it.

The other present that came in today I already hid away.

I'm just waiting for him to call me. He's going to my storage unit to get my Tevas. Then stopping at the grocery.

In the meantime, I'm having an adult beverage, and reviewing the packing list.

I only have 7 more days of work!!!

I'm so glad we made it to 5 before I left tomorrow. Saves me searching on my iPhone!

I'm done with work... WAHOO!!!!

Did everybody see they're going to be testing FP+ again!!

People have been getting e-mails from TA's! I'm so bummed we're arriving at the second part of our split stay on Dec 9, not on Dec 11 ...

The dates are Dec 11-15 for those of you who are. Hope some of our gang gets invitations!

I saw that, we'll just miss it. Maybe next trip....

Yay! No more work, vacation time for you!!

I game but don't scrapbook. I'm more of a Raving Rabbids on my Wii gamer, but I did get sucked into Oblivion on the 360. If I thought I'd be any good at it I'd buy the new Assassin's Creed. I just lack the skills for all the jumping and climbing.

And ACIII would be the WRONG one to jump into.

First of all..you'd be lost in the storyline. You probably don't need to start with AC 1 (but you might want to), but at LEAST AC2 (and then Brotherhood and Revelations, and finally ACIII).

Second, I found ACIII to be the worst of the bunch in terms of controls. They're "flaky", and sort of a departure from the AC2 controls (which were pretty intuitive and tight). They weren't bad, exactly, in ACIII....but it's not the best representation of the series in terms of the controls.

The setting, however, is fantastic (though my favorite is still AC3..but I'm a sucker for Ren era Italian architecture). And the story is a good chapter in the narrative..though, like the last couple, it ends with a cliffhanger.

Thanks Tofu! Glad to post on Part 5 before we leave tomorrow :thumbsup2

Thanks Christina!

Ok, so we're just about packed (well, at least DS and I are done). DH has to finish packing. The airport shuttle called me today and told me they will be here at 6 am instead of 6:15 due to the recent traffic issues on the road. No problem!

Speaking of DH. Last week he ordered a Samsung Galaxy (used) from Verizon's web site for $150. It came yesterday and he was very happy. Except, the ringer and the phone speaker didn't work (you would think Verizon would make sure the phone "works" before re-selling it) :headache:. So he calls Verizon today to see what could be done. Unfortunately, they would need to send him another one via FedEx and he would send this one back. Um, can't do that, we're going to Disney tomorrow. So his only other option was to pay the additional $50 at a local Verizon store and get a brand new one. He goes down to do that and picks up a universal portable power pack to go with it. So now he is all set for our vacation and has even downloaded the Disney Mobile Magic app :yay:

Yay so exciting to be at a point where people are starting their trips!!!! Christmas in WDW is fast approaching!!!!

Its the hooked part of these games that always gets me ... I liked playing the really simple games because the rationale was I can play for 20 minutes a day then go be productive ... towards the end of Farmville I was playing for an hour a day, and stuff was not getting done so I had to stop. Same thing with WarMetal.
I would love to play any of the new games that are more like Civilization ... building worlds, etc, space operas I love (big SF geek here), but lately I've been sticking to stuff that doesn't swallow huge amounts of time and lets me talk to my friends like Draw Something and SongPop. At least then I feel like I'm multitasking.

All things in moderation. I tend to play at night, after the kids are in bed, during "prime time". So rather than watch the tube, I get my narrative "fix" from games (and, luckily, my wife likes to watch/navigate and enjoys the stories too).

I also play with my son, a lot. Typically the lego games which are GREAT fun to play in local multiplayer mode. We have a blast..though we try to limit the screen time to a relative minimum. Still, it's fun to do on a rainy/snowy day!

:cool1: Lets get this party started!!!!!

So DD is 12 now, getting a little fussy on clothes so grandma takes her out this evening to get some sneakers for Disney. She needs comfy shoes, says Grandma. Shes going to be walking miles, says Grandma

Umm, ya - but she doesn't need COACH. She didn't even know what they were but of course, Grandma has now educated her :rolleyes2

Jeez Grandma. How come you made me wear crappy shoes I hated but you get my daughter a pair of Coach. OMG. Thats it. The child is getting a JOB!

I'm familiar with the storyline. The ex played AC and AC2. I don't think I saw him finish AC2, but I know enough..

If the controls are flaky maybe I'll go to my BFF's house and try it out there.

Thanks for letting me know!!

COACH!!! Geez!! I have to work hard for my Coach. DBF did get me 2 new purses and a wristlet, as well as a pair of Coach flip flops for my birthday.

It is funny how we were forced to "make do" and they spoil our kids.. :sad2:

Not sure if it matters, but...I played all the ACs on PS3. Xbox controls might be better/different.

My main complaint was that the shoulder buttons do too much, now. You end up jumping a lot (as in: off buildings and cliffs) when free running. It really complicates things. They also really oversimplified the interaction commands (distilling it down to one button)..which sounds good until you're close to two different things that you can interact with and you have to twiddle the controller to draw focus to the one you want to interact with. In earlier versions, different interactions were (hands vs head vs feet) were mapped to different buttons. Made it a bit easier to deal with.

But don't let that scare you off: They're pretty forgiving games, all in all. There's not much of a "death penalty" and, like the Uncharted games, even the complex sequences are "doable" with a little trial and error/practice.

I think levenhopper and possibly ValGoof are eligible for it (if she keeps her original plan!).

We do own Lego HP and Lego Star Wars for our Xbox, which DS6 loves. Same here with not watching television anymore; we cancelled our cable subscription a few years before DS was born and never looked back ... When he gets a bit older I look forward to playing more stuff with him; I tend to prefer tabletop board/card games for socializing. Dominion, Blokus, Catan, etc.

Wow. This does seem a bit excessive and like its setting her up to want brands she may not be able to afford later ... my brother's current GF bought me a Coach purse for my wedding and I'm afraid to use it because I don't like the idea of being identified as someone who could afford something like that. So the only time I take it out is when we stay at the Grand Californian so then I feel like I "blend". :cool2:

OK..watching Scrooge (not to be consfused with the equally awesome Scrooged, with Bill Murray), "dis-ing", and brainstorming last minute packing stuff (like batteries for the led lights we got to decorate our stroller).

Saw mention of "adult beverage" in earlier post. Now contemplating exactly what type of "adult beverage" would go well with the above activities...hmmm.

There's a couple specific ones she's had her eye on (sorta pinkie purplish). They had one up for yesterdays sale but, alas, I was too late. By the time I saw the sale..they were out of stock. Hoping one of the others is up tomorrow.

I'll post pics if I manage to score it.
