Parley....Will That Get Me On The Ship Any Faster part 2

A great day of Halloween Decorating for our family today. We also bought some more accessories for Pirate Night. We definitely plan on getting decked out.

So much to do in the next 12 days, two of which we will be out of state.

Woo hoo! Happy to hear I'm not the only one going all out for Pirate Night!!! My Jack Sparrow costume is nearly complete. However, It could conceivably require its own suitcase with as much stuff as I have for it (not to mention the weight). I'm afraid I may have to leave some of the bigger pieces at home. :sad1:

For anyone wondering what to do in St. Maarten, here's a video from Maho Beach that our friends from the Westbound transAtlantic just posted. We were with them on the 2010 WBTA; they recently got back from the 2011 WBTA, too (lucky !@#$%^).

Yeah, tell me about it. I'm looking through some past editions of the Personal Navigators for the Magic's Eastern Caribbean itinerary. It doesn't look like I could pick any time that wouldn't cut into something or other. If it isn't cutting into dinner, it's cutting into other entertainment venues. To me, food rocks eternal, and for the money. you can't beat the delicious food on a cruise ship! So, I'd rather accommodate the dining, and people will just have to make arrangements for their after-dinner entertainment.

So, I guess I will put the stargazing meet time up to a popular vote and let the masses decide. However, everyone will need to be sure to chime in today because I need to hurry up and get back to my DCL contact if I am going to change the time. If DCL is going to make special accommodations for our little event, I want to make sure they have the right time.

Here are the choices:

#1). 8:00pm (leave it as it is)
#2). 9:00pm
#3). 9:30pm
#4) 10:00pm

Keep in mind, there are some people with young children for whom a later start time would be better. The kids and significant other may already be tucked in for the night, and that would give them plenty of time to come up on top deck and gaze the night away. CONVERSELY, their are people whose young children and significant others would like to participate in the stargazing meet, and a later time would unfortunately exclude them.

Let the vote begin. We must settle on a time this evening. Thanks for any and all input!

Could I vote for 9.30pm?

I read that the ship can dock in either Philipsburg or Havensight, but it looks like it docks in Havensight more often. We would like to stop in Philipsburg, but not sure what the easiest way to get there if the ship docks in Havensight. Anyone have any experience in getting to Philipsburg from Havensight? Taxi? Rental car? Boat? DCL excursion? Bueller? Bueller? :)

Each time I've been there we've docked at Havensight.

Alright. It's official. I'm calling it: 9:30pm it is for the stargazing meet on Wednesday, 10/26. If pushing back the time means more people can join us, then more the merry. Or... "much more better" as I like to say!

Becky, could you do the honor of updating the meets on the first page to reflect this change? Thank you.

Once I hear back from my DCL contact, I hope to get the location of the stargazing meet set, as well. Right now, the first page says Deck 11. Having never been on the Disney Magic, or any DCL ship for that matter, I have no idea if that location will be ideal. As with the time, I believe Deck 11 is just a placeholder... more of a guideline, really. My DCL contact is supposed to be getting input from the crew on the Magic itself as far as where they believe the ideal location for stargazing will be. I'm kind of hoping for the sports deck with the lights turned off. That should accommodate more than enough people and give us good views in most directions, I hope.

Looks like I picked the right time.

Long range weather forcast in St. Thomas and St. Maartens.

Projected highs about 87 with lows in the lower 70's. :cool1:

Works for me. :thumbsup2

:cool1: I hope for the 80's---low 70's...I hope will be their dead middle of the night weather---when we'll all be safely on the ship...

Would work for me too!

I cannot wait! Work has been crazy lately, but doesn't that always happen right before a vacation? Only 9 more working days is what I have been telling myself all day!

wow the Dream is late leaving port. Wonder if its because of the weather?:confused3

10% packed. It's a start. :confused3

How's everyone else's vacation prepping going? popcorn::

I know it's getting close when I find myself checking our Meet thread 3x day... AKA stalking. :sad2:

Can I join the "bad-mommy" club?
Two weeks until cruise date and either my teenaged daughter is trying to make me feel bad for leaving them at home with grandparents or I truly do feel guilty for going without them. Please assure me that I will forget all about them and their crazy schedules once I step foot on the Magic.

Passports were pulled out of our safe today. I have a worry that I will forget them. :scared1:
I put them with the cruise docs/WDW tickets/Universal tickets/excursion info, etc.

I finally started yesterday. I have all of my evening/dinner clothes out, still working on the shorts, etc.

Last night I had a panic attack because I realized that I only had 1 bathing suit that fit (the new one :thumbsup2). My 2 other bathing suits are too big :yay: so, I had to jump on the internet to find another one and nobody seems to have anything on sale right but I finally found one and it'll be here on Wed :woohoo: (Uh oh, the run one sentence thing just hit me )

I, too, have been sneaking peeks at the thread while I'm at work - keeps me going :goodvibes

I'm packing right now. We had it to where each of us had a bag, but I told Sean I wanted to take the packing cubes and put outfits for each person in each bag, that way if one gets lost we have clothes.
