I'm considering the DVC, but I'm thinking that I missed something...when staying at a DVC location, do you get the benefits of staying onsite, such as the Extra Magic Hours? Do you get discounts on Annual Passes, or merchandise? I apologize if these questions are easily answered elsewhere. Thanks!

All of the DVC resorts offer guests the same theme park benefits like early Extra Magic Hours, and it does not matter if you are a DVC member or not. DVC members do receive some additional perks which vary but DEFINTELY they get a big discount (about $100) on Annual Passes. Go to www.disneyvacationclub.com and you may get some more info. Dining discounts and special program/tour discounts are the most common but there is also a way to save about 25% (sometimes) if you are paying cash instead of using points to reserve a room. My advice? Buy DVC ONLY for the use of points to facilitate your stay and then just consider anything else you get by virtue of your membership "icing on the cake." Good luck.

Yes, DVC resorts are on-site Disney resorts, so on-site Disney perks apply. As ccw said, there are plenty of other perks that only apply to DVC members. The real perk is if you are used to going to WDW and staying in deluxe resorts every or every other year, DVC makes a lot of financial sense as well.
