I'm thinking OT gets a special Founders Award for longest post:jester: and most creative use of language:smooth:

Come on Gometros ... we need a question:wave:

What a time to be leaving ... just when it's gettin' good. I'm headed out the door within 5 minutes to drive south and will be in the non-virtual WDW tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait!! I'll just hope I find things running hunky-dorily when I get back.
Seriously, though, I'd love to cast one newbie vote for ... (1) questions should only be asked if the questioner knows the answer rock-solid without looking up anything anywhere ... and (2) answers should not come from "web research". Maybe the answer could be sought on the web after a specific time limit. Honor system, of course.
Mickey, Figment, et al .... here I come!!

CAR!!!!!!

hummm those 9 pages of fluff that I had to go through doesn't even come close to as long as it took me to read OT's post...

and OT, honey...I know that this is a Parks Game thread and all, but it's the wicked queen in Snow White that uses the *sleeping apple*, not Malicifant from Sleeping Beauty (that must be part of your 0.1% of wrongness that you already have allotted for the year)

IMHO - OT had some REALLY valid points - and to be brutally honest...if we don't start to follow some of his suggestions, the mod's will shut the thread down - plus poor Jen is *keeping on topic'd* out

Distriv - don't worry OT doesn't really want to see a fight - he just wants to see the *kiss and make up* sessions - don't ya big boy?

Thanks for everyone's support on my morning post - I was told that "If I said it - you would come..."

"...this all happened because I ate some bad pizza and woke up with a conscience..."

GAME ON!!!!!!!!!

Madonna (who is - how did OT put it? Oh yeah *politely waiting for Gometros to ask a question*...)

Looks like we have a lull in the action ... I know you all are waiting for the kissing and making up but I know I need at least one more stroll around the World Showcase for that to happen;)

Tossing one out there to keep us real honest ....

What direction is best when touring World Showcase? Clockwise or counterclock wise when it is is raining cats ang dogs in August? :smooth:

As my Canadian friend says .... "GAME ON!!!"

Little known Disney trivia...I know cuz I found it on the web while looking for a new question to ask....Maleficent and the Evil Queen were sisters. Mally actually gave her sis the spell for that apple, so it's just as much her's.

Figures...all my blathering on and she picks up on that little mistake. OK so you're right, Material Girl. I knew Maleficent didn't sound right. I may have to make an adjustment to 0.2% wrong, 99.8% right.

The best direction go around World Showcase, if it's raining cats and dogs depends on how close to the International Gateway you are. The sooner you can get back to the BW the better.

And it's not the kissing and making up...it's the nude mud wrestling I like.

Where on Main St. can you find stadium seating?

An AAQ card to OT, who did not heed this advice when touring with Jas and me in August during a downpour 'cuz he didn't want to get his hair wet:rolleyes:

You find stadium seating in the Chalk Circle ... especially during Spectromagic and Fantasy in the Sky;)

Gometros ... where are you? We need a question!!!

I believe three hours is reasonable enough time to wait for Gometros to toss out a question. Besides, he's a good player and will answer another one soon enough. I don't think he'll miss that latest AAQ card too much if I use it with my previous Stadium Seat question.

OT, would you find stadium seating in The Main Street Cinema? (are there even chairs? I don't really remember it.)

Edit: If I'm right don't expect a question, I'm going to bed!

OT, are the "stadium seats" located in the Main Street Athletic Club? (which might have been changed to Team Disney).

Hmm...this is a tough one. The stadium seats are between the Main St. Athletic Club and Casey's Corner. I think both Dave and Jim were describing the same place. So AAQ's to both of them. AAQ's to everyone who didn't guess too. AAQ's for ALL the people on the DIS!! Sorry couldn't resist.

Since whenever I've been in there I see people chomping down on hot dogs, getting mustard, relish and ewww KETCHUP all over the stands I have to give the AAQ to Jim for saying it's at the back of Casey's. Dave just gets a pat on the back and a hand shake.

Which three bears sing " All the guys that turn me on turn me down"?

Yes it is Dave, bunny, Bubbles and Beulah sing " All the guys that turn me on turn me down". AAQ card to you.

What a day....huh?

Well said OT!

Hopefully the new feeling around the PG will last for a long time....I really enjoy this thread, and I wouldn't want to see it go away...

But enough about that...it seems everyone has gone to bed...and before I do...I'll just put a question for the night/early morning crew...
Where in MK can you find a statue of Pinnochio?

Have a good night!

Well, well...quite a day here on the PG thread. And I guess it's good to communicate rather than hold things in...so we owe madonna a debt of gratitude for getting people to get a load off of their minds. Really...that took courage madonna, and we should all be grateful.

I guess I've been around long enough to toss my two cents in as well. But the first thing I did was go back to my last 50 posts on this thread to see how bad I was contributing to the "fluff" on the thread. Of those 50 posts, 41 included a question, a guess on the response to the question, or a confirmation of a correct response to one of my questions. So 18% (including this one) would fall into the "fluff" category....and thus I plead guilty of adding to the "wastefulness" of the thread.

I thought madonna made some great points, as did everyone who posted on the subject of the current direction of the thread. Personally, I thought Higgs had the best suggestions, but I'm willing to go with whatever the majority feels is best.

While I agree with most of the points wdwoldtimer made on his post, I do think that there were some comments that did not contribute to the point being made, and were (despite assurances to the contrary) rather obviously pointed at some regulars here on the thread. To that I took exception, as I can't think of anyone who is looking for self-glorification on this thread.

And I agree with Distriv that we really don't need to push the language envelope here on the boards. It detracts from the argument being made and I'm sure there are some who find it offensive.

Beyond that, I agree that the Shacky award might have been our worst invention as it does seem to spur us to delve deep into minutiae. Surprisingly, the questions that earned Shacky awards are virtually all great questions that were answerable by observant park-goers. So in no way am I taking shots at anyone's awards.

In fact, in the name of lessening the focus on Shacky's, I've removed mine from my signature (I couldn't remember what it was for anyway!). If nothing else, it will shorten the number of pages we go through!! ;)

In closing, I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to post on this thread, in whatever capacity. As I said during the September 17 One Year PG Thread Anniversary celebration:

I’d like to let each of you know how much enjoyment I get from the questions that make me picture Walt Disney World parks in my head, the comments that often make me laugh out loud, the camaraderie, the well-wishing for important upcoming events such as weddings and births, the concern and pixie dust when posters and their loved ones need it, and the general level of respect and friendship. Even the “family spats” end up being resolved in a kindly manner!

And if there was an open question, I'd take a stab at it! :)

Edit: Oh, an open question! Is there a statue of Pinocchio in the main street near the flag pole in MK?

Amen Granny...to show my support...I am also removing my shacky.....

For the good of the game....

Who else is with us???

BTW...you got one Pinnochio statue...but that isn't the only one...

Higgs....uh oh, the Black Monorail is warming up its engines....after all, your question did say "a" statue of Pinocchio! :p

Just kidding...more statues of Pinoch, huh? Let's see, I'll have to guess the obvious.....that there's one at Pinocchio's Village Haus in MK (right above the door?)

fantpinshop.jpg

Pinocchio - bronze statue in the hub...

Thanks Granny...whew...I was *dying* to get those 2 Shackys off of my chest - hummm...mine are real - who the heck needs fake ones???

I don't know if I mentioned it - but I also agree with Higgs' suggestions. Come on Higgs - lay some *official ground rules*...

pssst Granny - I'm pretty positive that OT was joking about the swearing and other such points - you should know by now not to take him seriously - LIKE he's gonna see *nude mud wrestling...* - what---ever!

I may have to make an adjustment to 0.2% wrong, 99.8% right.
Can we *mark* this occasion in our PG stats??? OT ADMITTED that he was WRONG!!!

Granny, OT is a very tongue in cheek person. in fact here is a quote from his post
Most of you know how I like pushing the envelope with the mods and striving for the limits of good taste.
We all should know that by now. He didn't call out anyone by name in fact it was pretty generic, yet you felt the need to do that to him. I really don't want to see this keep going but I also don't like to see my friend's words taken out of context.

Hey Madonna, maybe we'll get to see some nude men mud wrestling.

I have no idea about the Pinocchio statue(s).
