Parks Game: Part 11! "Still Playing After All These Years..."

ryley... Is Millionaire play it different from WWTBAM (Who wants to be a millionaire)?

ADaddy.... What about the Carnival type games at DinoLand? And I'll add the Sunrise Safari Tour for AKL guests.

Okay folks - here are the standings thus far:

Correct answers:

Sounds dangerous - distriv
Share a Dream Come True - smolensk
BLSRS - Granny
Aladdin's Carpets - ryley26
Philarmagic - gometros
Tarzan Rocks - Mbabe
Mission Space - gometros
JIYI (2 different incarnations) - Mbabe
Wishes - Mbabe
Stars & Motor Cars - Granny
Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade - smolensk
Millenium Village - gometros
WWTBAM Play It - Mbabe, 2nd by ryley26
Primeval Whirl (watch your neck!) - gometros
Chester & Hester's Dinorama - Mbabe
Winnie the Pooh - Mbabe
Kali River Rapids - Granny
Triceratops Spin - Granny, 2nd by ryley 26
Legend of the Lion King - granny
sunrise safari tour - Mbabe (* new to my list)
new China movie - iwannabeminnie (* new to my list)
Doug live - gometros (* new to my list)
Goofy's country Dancin - Mbabe (* new to my list)
B&TB in the it's new location - Mbabe (*new to my list)

New Rides and Attractions listed that I believe are more than 5 years old:

Alien Encounter - Granny
Test Track - Gometros
Rockin' Rollercoaster - Gometros
Fantasmic - Gometros

A few clarifications:

1. When I made my list I was working with a time frame from 9/15/99 to 9/15/04, so for me, that's the last 5 years

2. I included attractions that no longer exist such as the Millenium Village.

3. In the event that items on my list are incorrect or fail to include correct answers, I will gain new information on WDW!:p

I must admit; when I first made the list I was shocked to note just how much had been added and/or changed in the past 5 years. My original list still has 9 more items to go , plus whatever else I forgot! A little virtual park touring never hurt anyone, so let's keep-on going..........

:earsboy:

ADaddy...this is a great question. It's hard to believe there are still 9 more attractions/parades out there! This is a good post to list for those who say that WDW has gone downhill [under Eisner] and they don't adequately re-invest in the parks!!

Clearly, they are not satisfied to "stand pat" at WDW!

And I'll guess a couple more:

Tapestry of Dreams Parade (Millenium)
Tapestry of Nations Parade

ADaddy... How about:

The Hig Hat at MGM
Cinderella's Surprise Celebration
One Man's Dream

:wave2:

How about

Playhouse Disney Live
Making of the Haunted Mansion Exhibit (closed in May this year)
Affection Section in Rafiki's Planet Watch
Flights of Wonder in DAK
Circle of Life movie at The Land in EPCOT

Good one's Granny and Mbabe!

Additional Correct Answers:

Tapestry of Dreams - Granny
Tapestry of Nations - Granny
Mickey's sorcerer hat - Mbabe
One Man's Dream - Mbabe

That leaves 5 more on my list.......

New information (also correct answers) for me:

Cindy's suprise celebration - Mbabe
Playhouse Disney Live - Granny
Making of the Haunted Mansion - Granny
Affection (infection?!?) Section at Rafiki's - Granny
Flights of Wonder - Granny
Circle of Life movie at the Land - Granny

I have to agree with Granny; Eisner is no Walt, but there will only ever be one Walt Disney! The time between Walt's passing and Eisner's rise to power was definitely a period of decline for Disney at the parks and on the screen ( they put out some real stinkers during that period!), and I cannot understand how anyone can catergorize Eisner's stewardship of Disney as anything other than a period of significant growth with major improvements in the parks and the films.

At any rate, WDW has had impressive growth over the past 15 years or so and that growth doen't look like it will slow down any time soon.

Wow, still five more?

I'm getting close to saying "Uncle"! :confused3

Okay, how about Stitch Escapes? I think that's open now, at least for a soft opening?

/
Illuminations 2000
Fastpass
Villas at Wilderness Lodge
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
Once Upon a Toy
Disney Pin Traders
Beach Club Villas
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Disney's Pop Century Resort

Circle of Life was 1995, Barnstormer was in 1996 and SpectroMagic in 1991.

Sorry folks! None of the above..............well, kinda

I did have Goofy's Barnstormer on the list, but I'm sure James is right about it opening in 1996 so Tinerbellangel gets points from me even though I'm somewhat chronologicaly challenged.

As for James' answers; all are correct, but I wasn't after resorts and stores and such, so none of them were on my list.

There are still 4 more to go: here are some hints - the four remaining answers include 2 parades, one ride, and one attraction in three different parks all of which were significantly changed or introduced as "new" between 9/15/99 and 9/15/04.

Granny - Is Stitch open? We'll be at the Contemporary over Thanksgiving and are hoping to see it then, but I was under the impression that it hadn't opened yet.

Good luck to all!

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to stop in and wish everyone a belated Happy Trivia Thread Anniversary! :) I hadn't been on the Boards in awhile and just recently found MickeyBabe's PM regarding the great occasion! So sorry that I missed the actual day! And so glad to see that all is well and thriving in the old Chalk Circle! :)

Anyway...........

Would the new drop sequences in ToT count, Amandadaddy? How about the Magical Moments Parade ("reincarnated" from the 25 year celebration parade, which was essentially identical with the exception of the introduction)?

IASW....awesome to see you back here! :)

ADaddy...they were talking about a soft opening for the new Stitch Escape attraction right about now. I know that they talked about letting DVC members try it out a little early.

Are you referring to the early park entry changes for WDW guests?

Chalk one up for IASW rider! Magical Moments was one of the 2 parades on my list. That leaves us with just 3 to go!

GoMetros - sorry, but no. I meant that the two parades, one ride and one attraction were in three different parks and that the attraction, the ride, and both parades were either "new" or significantly changed between 9/15/99 and 9/15/04.

Granny - thanks for the info. DD, DW and I are dying to do the new Stitch ride in November....we might have to become DVC members to do it!

IASW rider - I also wanted to say hi! I thought of you the other day. We'd just received the latest trip planning video from Disney which features a small snipit of IASW with the narrator saying something like ".....and just try to get that song out of your head...." Obviously, I thought of you...."waaaaah wah waah waah waaaaah wah waaaaah":teeth:

One ride, one attraction, and one parade still to go folks!

:earsboy:

Main Street Electrical Parade (The incarnation that left DL in 1996 and came to WDW refurbished in 1999)?

MBabe......is correct!

The MSEP was brought to WDW during the Millenium celebration from 10/99 to 1/01 (I believe those dates are correct) - congrats to MBabe!

That brings the list down to one ride and one attraction in different parks that were significantly changed, or new to WDW, between 9/15/99 and 9/15/04. They're obvious.....to me anyway...so I'm sure they'll be nailed in short order!

What about me?
