Howdy. We are headed down for our first stay at AKL Kedani 11/30-12/5. Usually we stay at a monorail resort (or now that we are DVC, Bay Lake Towers).

I'm thinking about renting a car to get us around this trip. How bad is parking ($$$) going to be? Any tips?

It looks like you have bad taste in baseball ;) but I can probably still give you some info. You will not have to pay for parking at Kedani unless they find out about your baseball preference. The parking at the parks is free for DVC members unless they find out about your baseball preference. If you decide to have dinner at another resort you will have to pay for valet now since they have apparently done away with that perk. I hope you have a good time and they don't find out about your baseball preference:)

As long as you are a resort guest (as you are at Kidani), you can park for free at your resort and the parks. If you are going to another resort for dining or shopping, you just have to tell the gate attendant what you are doing. They often issue you a 3 hour pass to park at that resort. It is also free to park there.

You must be staying onsite to get free parking at the parks. Even as a DVC member, if you were to be staying off property, you wouldn't be allowed to park for free. Also, AP holders can park for free at the parks.

Have fun!

Parking at the parks is a perk of staying on site DVC or not. If a DVC member was to stay off site the would have to pay for parking at the parks.

Kidani is great for parking (as well as being a cool resort) since you park under the building, thus out of the sun. Plus, elevator access is usually nearby. I don't use valet parking anywhere, so tipping isn't an issue. As for getting into the parks, like anywhere else, the earlier you get there, generally the better the parking. . .but, prepare to walk, anyway. lol

If the member is also an annual passholder they can park at the theme parks for free.
