We want to do a morning visit to Roaring Fork for Mickey waffles at Wilderness Lodge, leave to go outlet shopping, then back to Magic Kingdom for MVMCP by 4pm.

I've heard that parking at the deluxe resorts is difficult without an ADR, which we would not have since Fork is quick service.

Can we park at MK in the morning, take the boat to
Wilderness Lodge, then return later for the party without paying for double parking? In other words, is our morning parking good for coming and going later in the day?

Is the boat to Wilderness only from MK? So we park at TTC then bus, monorail or ferry to MK gate where we then take a different boat to Wilderness? Never been to Wilderness in all my years of visits so am very excited to see it for the first time around Christmas.

Your plan is correct BTW. The boat to WL is right across from the MK entrance.

I believe you can park at any resort for 2 hours for free this is so people can go and eat ( even QS) go shopping and just check out the resorts. so if you think it will not take you two hours to eat you can simply park at the resort and then go and park at the MK.

A bus from ttc to mk wouldn't be available unless the ferry was down so it's ferry or monorail. Monorail would be the quickest unless it looks like you might wait for a couple of them with a lot of people then the ferry would be faster.
There is also a bus from MK to WL. The boat is a little small so I would use the bus if it looks like there is more than 1 boat worth of people waiting already. Also if you ferry over, the bus is right there where you get off.

I would just park at Wilderness Lodge in the morning and leave it there until you have finished the party in MK.

What you are suggesting is not allowed.

- They are going to WL for QS BREAKFAST.
- They are leaving to go outlet shopping.
- Then returning to MK for Party at 4 pm.

- They did not ask about parking at WL all day - which is not allowed unless they valet.
- If they valet, yes they have in/out without paying twice.
- They asked about having to pay twice for parking at MK if they took WL boat. Keeping receipt allows this.
- Their concern about parking at WL for breakfast is sometimes during holidays the parking is restricted to those with ADRs only.

Yes, as long as there is no holiday/ADR restriction in place, they can park at WL to eat at QS but then will HAVE to move their car, but not an issue since they are going shopping anyway.

some resorts only allow people that are not staying at that resort to park there for 2 hours I know the contemporary is one that dose this. So I would make sure you ask

If they pan to eat and then shop they should be able to do this within tow hours, if they are limited on the amount of time they can park there

The three hour rule is a general rule for most, if not all, resorts, especially the deluxe one. They will tow cars during the busy season if that time is exceeded.

You should be able to park at the resort and go eat a QS meal with no issue. Then leave and shop, come back and pay for parking at MK lot. I say should because if it is busy, security may tell you you can't park there. You can then pay for valet parking or go to MK if that haplens.

Three times I have been told I couldn't park at a resort, once even with an ADR I was told at GF we had to park and monorail over. Most of the time they just ask for your ID before letting you in. But they can deny you. I am sure someone will say that didn't happen, but I'm not going to argue as I was there and know it did.

Last time we had Kona reservations for breakfast, we weren't on their list... and they were not going to let us in (even with a Resort Parking Pass) Thankfully and older guard called and verified that we did have reservations.

Now maybe I could have told them I just wanted to go to the QS restaurant and do some shopping and that I would be happy to pay for valet parking.... I'd just rather not risk it in this day of changes.

Thanks, all. I had gathered from other posts that parking at deluxe resorts could be an issue. We want to leisurely eat Mickey waffles then tour the resort decorations. So MK parking sounds like the way to go since we would be paying for it later for MVMCP anyways. Might be able to park at the resort but might get turned away so just going to park at MK and make enjoying the boat ride part of the experience.

I've heard WL is gorgeous at Christmas. We have a reservation for a sleigh ride at wilderness campground on our arrival night. Hoping we can just park and not have to hop from MK for this.

I thought I was a Disney veteran until I came up with all this new stuff for us to do on this trip! Lol.

I think you'll be fine here since you park at the Ft Wilderness Outpost and then take an internal bus in to where you need to be. Buffer yourself enough time to do this since you won't be parking anywhere near the sleigh ride.

WL is one place I've never had trouble being allowed in. Their parking lot is a pretty big one, particularly with capacity being somewhat reduced (still?) because of the construction.
I wouldn't hesitate to park there for your breakfast. Sounds like you don't plan to abuse the privilege.
And if for some odd reason you were turned away, it's easy to get to the TTC/MK parking lot from there.

Just to be clear, I'm assuming this was for another Resort. Resort parking passes are only for the resort you are staying at and of course free parking at the parks.

Wilderness Lodge is the one place where I've seen an actual sign that says parking is limited to resort guests only. It was folded and sitting behind the guard house, but they actually have a sign to set out when necessary.
