If we rent a car can we get a free parking pass for our rental car to be used all over WDW? Or can a pass just be used at our resort, (CBR)

When you are staying at a Disney resort and have a car, when you check in they give you a parking pass that you display on your car dash. It indicates your name, your resort and the dates you are staying. You can just show this to the gate attendants at any of the parks and you won't have to pay for parking.

Your parking pass is only good for your own resort or the theme parks. If you plan on driving over to another resort for a meal or to just look around, they will usually give you a 3 hour parking pass. Unless you valet park, and then you can park all day!

We've been to different resorts all around WDW for various ADRs and have never been given a 3 hr parking pass - they always just ask to see our ID and then wave us through

It depends is the best answer to that. Officially, you will get a 3 hour parking pass. But if the parks are slow, or if the resort isn't very busy, they may let you park for longer. They are typically stricter with the parking time at the Magic Kingdom area resorts and the Boardwalk area resorts.

I think it is best to tell people what the offical answer is, that way there are no bad suprises. Only good ones!
