parking options at Universal???

We'll be staying at the Grand Floridian on WDW property for 7 nights and 8 days in early August. We want to spend all or part of two or three days at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I'm squared away in terms of tickets, but I noticed on the Universal Orlando website that parking is $8 per day in their garage. If we drive over on two or three different days (or more), this could really begin to add up. Does anyone know of any other less expensive options? I'd be willing to look into satellite parking or even shuttle service from the WDW area is such a thing exists. Please help me out! Thanks!

Parking is $8 for self-parking, $12 for preferred, and $16 for valet ($8 for less than 2 hours). You can get free parking, $4 preferred, and 1/2 off valet with an AP. That's pretty much the only parking deal I know of. You can take a transportation company like Mears for around $12 a person or take a taxi for about $30-$35 from WDW to Universal. I think it's $32 one way from the Swan to Universal.
