Does anyone know if parking attendants or security every browse through the parking lots? I'm sure they have cameras, but do they ever do any kind of surveillance of the parking lots?

to answere you your question about security I have seen them drive around the the parking lots as well sheriff department do also drive around the parking lot in marked & unmarked RMP's .. Why?

Without a doubt, there are occasional patrols through the lots, and they also have those portable observation "towers" that they can put in places they want to give some extra attention. However, I wouldn't consider WDW parking lots any more or less safe than a local mall parking lot. In past visits we've been warned to keep stuff out of sight in the car because they were experiencing a rash of incidents (in this case they named the MK parking lot) where people were smashing windows and popping trunk locks on vehicles that were obviously loaded up with all the family's belongings.

But as a New Yorker with ties to the NYPD they always tell ppl to keep your stuff out of site such as a GPS and Ipad. just put them away. These are crimes of opportunity this can happen anywhere from in front of your home or at the mall. So you are your own first line of defense if you leave these electronics visible you are making it easier for a prep to want to break into your car.. heres is oee of my favort tip i tell ppl remove your chargers form viwe if they cant see it they dont wnant it thes gose for the I pad charger as well lolz..

Spell check can be really helpful if you want to be understood.

How rude ^^

Did you search dontrudetoday.com before hitting the reply button?

I honestly had difficulty following that post as well...sometimes a little proof reading goes a long way. And darn those auto correct devices!

Back on topic - I know at BC they do roving security patrols in the parking lot. My parents were visiting us for the day & as they were walking out at night to leave, they were approached by security, just making sure they were supposed to be there.

It's not rude at all to suggest that someone check spelling before posting. If your post cannot be understood, why bother? You might as well take the time and do it right. If someone has trouble spelling, there is no reason not to use spell check when writing.

"Suggesting" how someone should post is rude all day long.

You don't know if its the persons first language or if they are even capable of doing what you suggested, hence rude.

You should go to the imsorry.com website and send that gentleman an apology.

Suggesting someone should use spell check because their post can not be understood or read is not rude. It is needed. There is no point to post on a community message board if you are not willing to take the time to make yourself understood. Most readers are not going to "waste" their time trying to make sense of those posts.

Niiiiice. I come home, after a very stressful week, and I find you guys bickering about being rude??? Proofing before hitting submit is always a good idea...for many reasons. Now, back to the subject at hand...
Yes, there is security at all parking lots..park and resort. Tower observation areas, cameras as well as security people in cars.

I have personally spoken to security @ the MK parking lot one time when I was having a problem with a leaky window in my car. He saw me in playing with things in the back of my SUV and came over to see if he could help.. he was on a bike.. so yes, they do patrol the areas as well as have security cameras. The large white towers (that look like cranes) you see in the parking lots are the security cameras..they also drive around in the white cars/vans in additions to the bikes.

Spell check doesn't work for many folks who are Dyslectic.

it is rude, what is not needed is a spelling nazi (not calling you one). I read the post and had absolutely no problem understanding what he said.

Sorry, gmeh1 - I have trouble understanding "words" like ppl, viwe (ah - view! thanks autocorrect), wnant (want, ditto), favort (cavort?). Yes, this is a message board and perfection isn't required - but making it possible for readers (all readers) to understand your message is considerate.

All right, knock it off. Yes, I did have some trouble quickly reading the post. I did get it after reading it more slowly.
And yes, some people do have issues with reading/posting due to some type of disability. I think we can be a bit more compassionate here. Rather than constantly going on about how something could be 'fixed', how about we just let it go??? Not everyone is the same. Live and let live. Move along people.

Yes, there is security by way of security vehicles driving around the lots. I am also sure there are numerous cameras around that we are not aware are watching us.
