I live in south Florida and will be driving to wdw do you have to pay extra to park in the dvc resorts, like you have to in regular Disney hotels? And I know resale is better. what happens if Disney makes more Restrictions on resales, will I be grandfather in?

1. Any guest staying at a Disney resort (DVC or otherwise) does not have to pay to park at their resort or at the parks.

2. It's anyone's guess whether Disney will grandfather in current owners to any new resale restrictions. They did it once, which means they could do it again -- or not.

No way to tell what Disney will do. I didn't think that they would put any resale restrictions in place to begin with but they decided that profit was more important than taking care of resale buyers. :sad2:

Pay to park? You CAN pay for VALET parking ($15 a day I think when I was last at BC), but you don't pay just for parking.

I think it's safe to say that those with unqualified points will suffer any future resale restrictions and not be grandfathered in. As I read it one is guaranteed POTENTIAL access to current home resorts and any club resorts at the same rules as qualified owners. Put another way, I don't see any legal way they can restrict resale owners access to any club resorts (non home resorts) in a way that differentiates between resale and retail. I think RCI is a safe bet as is free parking if staying at DVC assuming it stays free for hotel guests. IMO the additional options should not make or break anyone considering buying in. If DVC doesn't make sense if you can only stay at the home resort (due to availability not restriction) then buying DVC doesn't make sense for that person. However, they could offer additional perks and incentives to qualified owners and a VIP system is possible that might require qualified points to be included.
