I have 2 cars attending the tea party on Sunday. I have an AP and could park in Mickey and Friends, but since I won't be there until the afternoon, I am at risk of being routed to Toy Story. I wouldn't want to use the Toy Story bus because it would let me off so far from my destination and I'd have to go through the long security lines.

Would we be able to park at the hotel? I wouldn't mind paying to park at DTD. I am thinking I'll be doing the parks after the tea party (but haven't ruled out just doing Trader Sam's, either). Basically, I am asking where to park for the tea party at DLH, but also can we leave our cars there for a long time if we end up doing parks and stuff? What would you do in a similar situation?

EDIT TO ADD: My husband will be in his own vehicle and can't walk very far. Would he be able to use valet parking for an extended period of time?

According to DL website...

"
Non-registered Guests wishing to join us for breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of our hotel restaurants or enjoy spa services, will receive:

Parking for Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park and the Downtown Disney District is not permitted.

Standard Rates:

  • Self-parking: $18 for the first hour plus $9 per hour, per vehicle with a maximum rate of $58
  • Oversized vehicle parking: $23 for the first hour plus $9 per hour, per vehicle with a maximum rate of $58
  • Valet parking: $28 for the first hour plus $9 per hour, per vehicle with a maximum rate of $100
Parking availability and prices are subject to change. Not all table-service restaurants parking validation."

I believe if your husband has a handicap placard, he will be able to use the Valet for his 3 hours, then converts to self parking pricing.

Thanks. Sounds like we will both park at the hotel and then I will move our cars if we are going to do other stuff.

One option, you could leave the Hotel Lot after the Tea Party, and then switch to Downtown Disney Parkingand its limited free parking and hourly rate. (And you might even get the parking validated at Trader Sam's.

I am considering that, too. I feel like smoke is starting to come out of my ears from trying to plan out the rest of the day. My daughter had a schedule change and won't make it to the tea party, which is why my husband is going. I am staying overnight up there, he isn't. That's why 2 cars now. He can't walk much and Candlelight Processional is that night. I was thinking I'd go to DCA, but I can't picture him walking there from DLH and then back to the car. And there's no way I would take him to DL on that night. If he already had a ticket or an AP, we could probably get in and out DL via monorail, but I'm pretty sure he will have to get a ticket from the front plaza.

I couldn't get a movie schedule to show for that date. That was another thought : Tea party, Trader Sams, Movie, call it a day.

Here is a link to Sunday's AMC Disney schedule.

If you need to borrow a wheelchair, the Disneyland Hotel Bell Hops have a few that you can use for a few hours, and there is no charge (Of course, a tip would be nice) So you could get it at the Valet, if your Husband will accept that... I know some folks just don't like them. My Mom uses a walker, and doesn't want to use a wheelchair..... So just mentioning an option if you wanted to go to the parks for a bit.

Just wanted to update with what we did in case anyone else is wondering how to handle this. We parked at the hotel and were given 3 hours parking with validation from steakhouse 55 (where the tea party is). We actually arrived 1/2 hour early and the parking attendant marked our tickets for the extra 1/2 hour, so we really had 3 1/2 hours.

When our time was almost up, we moved our cars to Downtown Disney lot and ended up having dinner at Uva bar, which gave us another validation. We had up to 5 hours free at Downtown disney. We only used about 2 1/2 hours and tried to leave, but the lot was completely jammed with cars trying to leave. Only one exit was open and there was no way I could back out of my spot. Cars were not moving at all in my aisle. A couple people told us they had been trying to leave for an hour and we decided to go back and listen to live music for a while. We checked the lot again 30 mins later and all lanes were open and we were able to leave.
