DVC Members staying at a DVC Resort (points or cash) or at a non-DVC resort on points will not be subject to the daily resort parking fee.Just wondering where things are for parking at the resorts for DVC members?
Still free! It’s a great perk of DVC
You can apply an ultra technical definition of perk. For many people like myself the experience has been this:Yes it's nice, but it's not a perk. We pay for it in our MF's, ablate at a much lower cost. If I had to pay the $25/day for our average number of days at DVC/WDW, it would be around $300 year.
That's extremely convoluted.View attachment 590730
Here’s there exact wording.
Just wondering where things are for parking at the resorts for DVC members? It used to be free, has the pandemic changed that too?
Looks that way. If they used reservation points to pay for the cash-side room then it would be DVC related enough to avoid resort parking fee. That's extremely convoluted.
So a DVC member who pays cash to stay in a Poly studio gets free parking, but a DVC member who pays cash to stay in a Poly standard room has to pay for parking?
We do not own DVC and were not charged resort parking for a more recent cash stay at OKW (which is all villas).I think this captures it. The only thing I'm not clear about is a resale member paying cash to stay in a villa.

The parking lots at the DVC resort are a common element and dues pay for maintenance. Direct & Resale pay the same dues, so DVC legally can't make resale purchasers pay for parking when they pay the same per point dues rate as direct purchasers. The only thing I'm not clear about is a resale member paying cash to stay in a villa.
That does not apply when you're on a cash reservation. The parking lots at the DVC resort are a common element and dues pay for maintenance. Direct & Resale pay the same dues, so DVC legally can't make resale purchasers pay for parking when they pay the same per point dues rate as direct purchasers.
That does not apply when you're on a cash reservation.
Right but for a different reason. Your ownership entitles you to free parking when paying with points. The free parking when paying with cash is something else, whether we want to call it a Perk or a Benefit or an Extra. It does if you are a DVC member paying cash at a DVC resort.

Under that logic you'd be entitled to show up and park even if you didn't have any reservation whatsoever. No, I disagree. My 'ownership' remains whether I am paying with points or cash. I have a deeded interest in the property, which I paid for. Which every DVC member paid for.
Dues still pay for the maintenance. All DVC units are represented in points. Those available for cash are available against Disney's controlled points - both those they own, and those they gain via member trades. That does not apply when you're on a cash reservation.
