Hello. My husband will be at a conference in Orlando while my kids and I hang out at the parks and resort. We are planning on meeting at Downtown Disney for dinner a few nights. He will drive directly from his conference to meet us and will not have time to park at our resort and then use Disney transportation. I have heard that parking will be difficult with all the construction going on in that area. Does anyone recommend where he should park to meet us that won't take too much time?

He will park where Disney lets him. It is truly hard to imagine the disaster that is DTD right now. Honestly coming at dinner he will be directed to whatever is open and it may be in the offices across the street.

THIS!!!! We were at Planet Hollywood a couple of weeks ago, and I was shocked by how much construction is going on. Not just in DTD, but the roads leading up to it.

You need to budget lots of extra time for your husband to make it to DTD and park. I would strongly suggest you make your reservations late enough that he can drive back to the resort and hop on a bus, or grab a taxi. If you are eating at the end with Planet Hollywood and House of Blues, a taxi is the way to go. The only bus stop open is at the Marketplace side, so you would have to hike all the way over.

It's a mess. That said if you truly want to meet him in a timely manner he might think about the valet parking.

Well, no -- there is boat service from the new bridge near the bus depot to both the West Side and the former PI.

It may not be faster than walking, but it is an alternative.
