I used to always buy Park Hoppers with non-expiring....

but there are now gone...

and non-expiring is so expensive so am thinking of doing AP if I can get two parks in...

but I just buy tickets, I am wondering if it's worth it to even get park hoppers given that I know have to chose my day of park in advance for FP+ and dinning reservations.....

Seeking advice,

bcvlover (going to vero in April - wooHoo).

The non-expiration option is still available--it just doesn't show on the Disney website. I believe you can call Disney to order those. Third-party ticket sellers definitely have them...and for prices cheaper than Dis.

As for whether or not to get the park hopper, that's a personal choice. Many people have voiced an interest in visiting one park near opening--when lines are always short--and then hopping to another park later in the day where they have their FastPasses scheduled.

BTW, at this time there's really no great need to schedule things in advance. I've been monitoring FastPass+ availability for a month now. The only attraction which exhausts its FP supply in advance is Toy Story Mania. Usually by 6-8pm, FPs for the next day are gone. So that's one attraction that needs to be planned in advance.

Firework and parade viewing also fills up a day or two in advance at times. Limited availability...just one show per day.

Other than that, people are having no problem selecting a park to visit and attractions same-day. If you have a smartphone, you could pick your ride times while on the bus or monorail to a park.

TO address the question about whether to buy hoppers, base tickets or an AP...I buy a standard AP every year because I do enough park days to justify it. Even so, I rarely park hop, and if I had to use regular MYW passes, I would not add the park hopping option

This thread has me wodnering how FP+ does mesh with a DVC stay using 10 day non expiring tickets. Is the scheduling of FP rides based on the days you are staying at the DVC resort instead of the number of ticket days? Like if you were staying only 5 days but had a 10 day ticket, you would be limited to 5 days of fp+ reservations? I am not real clear on how the whole FP+ thign works but thought you had to tie in your tickets to the reservation.

From a practical standpoint, once you have a MagicBand, you can schedule FP+ for any dates after your resort stay commences as long as you have valid park admission. FP+ availability is NOT currently limited to dates staying at a Disney hotel.

If you have a 5-day Disney hotel stay followed by 5 days off-site--AND a park ticket that covers 10 days or more--you could actually schedule FP+ for the entire duration.

That's the situation today. It could always change.

And if you used 5 days from those 10 day tickets this year, you could then next year with a new dvc reservation link that same ticket and make FP+ reservations for the remaining 5 days? And if you had just 2 days left on the passes, but booked 5 days at a dvc resort, you would be limited to two days of FP+ reservations?

at least for now, once you have the MB, you can make as many days of FP+ reservations as admission days on the MB--no additional WDW hotel or DVC stay needed. I believe that they limit AP to 7 days of FP+. FP+ can be made 60 days out. I have MB from a Dec WDW hotel stay and just made FP+ for Easter. I am staying at a DVC, but that stay is not linked to my MB. This is what I was told and that is how it did work.
But, if you go 2X within 60 days, you are limited to the max FP+ days (again, I think it's 7). When you use up 1 FP+ day of 7 days, you can then book another day, etc.
With PH, we decided to make FP+ for the afternoon, when the lines get crazy, and just use standby in the AM. So, we could even PH from another park, to our FP+ afternoon park.

We have ab 8 night stay next month. We can only select fast passes for 7 days. We are DVC members so I called them for help and I was told we are only allowed to reserve for 7 days. We can work on the 8th day when we arrive.

Currently AP holders are restricted to booking 7 days of FP+.

Those with MYW tickets that are longer than that can book for all their ticket days.

I am planning to purchase tickets (Park Hoppers) through AAA due to the discount and the Diamond Parking Pass....Do I need to add them to my reservation before I can start booking FP+....My DVC resort reservation information said I can book starting May 5...Wasn't planning to purchase tickets before then but I will if I have to.

:confused3

We decided on our next visit, since we will be there for 2 weeks we will just get a AP.

Yes, you have to have tickets and a resort stay linked in MDE to book FPs in advance. You can book FPs 60 days before your check in date.

In Nov/Dec we were able to book all of our 11 days with FP+ in our annual pass. What is this only 7 days that is awful. I wish I knew this when I called DVC with our disappointment in FP+ . She did explain they are still figuring this out and listening to the guest. So it's worth letting them know your disappointment. We bought DVC and have been happy with the decision for many years till this FP+ stuff.

we were just there two weeks ago for a ten day stay and I booked all ten days in advance with MDE fast pass plus and we are AP holders and that's what was linked to our reservation

We've always park hopped. We went this past Nov and still park hopped, even while using FP+. We don't like to plan too much so we chose a couple of rides a day as our "must do's" and went to that park to get those rides in. Sometimes we stayed at that park, other times we hopped to another park or we made our FP+ ressies for the evening and hopped to that park to get our rides in. It really hasn't changed what we do. It was easy to change our FP+ selections the day before or even the morning of if we decided to go to a different park than the one we had FP+ selections at on a given day.

Ok so as stated many times I am not a planner and have not really been to FP+ booking for our trip in March. As a matter of fact it was a trip at 2 resorts and just last week found out I have to get seperate MB for that 4 days too and at least they are coming today. Sooo now first 4 days staying with DS and family and they do not have passes yet and probably won't until we get there(like I said no planning) so we have PAP and I guess can book FP+ but they can't and we will have to book when we get there like all the others and wait on line... no smart phone? and not carrying ipad in parks

Disney is sending MagicBands for every unique hotel check-in at present. However, unless you deactivate a particular band on your MDE account, every one that that you are ever issued will continue to work.

This isn't something worth stressing about. Most people seem to enjoy getting bands in a variety of colors. If you want to just continue to use a single band for every current and future trip, you may do so.

Waiting in line at the parks is not your only option.

First night in the hotel after arriving (and buying park tickets), gather everyone together and make the FP+ reservations for the entire visit. Or do it each morning over a cup of coffee. Takes 5 minutes.

It may also be possible, if you have made any FP+, for a CM at the parks (maybe the hotel) to duplicate FP+ for your group.
