Park Web cams

Are they ever going to put the Web cams for WDW back on the disney site? I have emailed WDW many times on this topic and the answer I always get is that they are working on bringing them back. It's been over 1 1/2 years since they removed them from their site. What goes?

I heard they laid off the people who were working on it with the big cuts they made after 9/11.

Must have been DEEP cuts! I couldn't see getting those web cams going as more than a week's worth of work for one person. Heck, even if the cameras and servers were not installed!

Unfortunately, with the economy and job situation as it is, I do not doubt that this is the case. MANY companies have been reduced to a skeleton staff, keeping only the mission critical functions going.

Heck, if Disney provided the hardware, I'd do it for a few nights of lodging.

I heard a rumor that Disney doesn't want us or the competition to see how poor attendance is. Think that's possible?

Possible? Sure. Probable? No.

These were down before the major tourism slump.
