Trying to decide on which hotel for our stay in December. When we went earlier this moth we stayed at BW Anaheim Inn which I really liked but we are in need of 2 queen beds and at BW it only has double which I have to say were very small. I am trying to decide between Park Vue and Desert Inn & Suites but I have read reviews with both saying bed bug problems. Has anyone stayed at either hotel recently? Just looking for some opinions I have 2 kids ages 2 1/2 and 6 I just need something that is clean and close. I have stayed at Hojo but the walk is a bit of a stretch for us need something closer.
Thanks!

We stayed at Desert Inn and Suites last November and plan to do it again this coming November. I really liked it. It's VERY close to the gate which is a huge plus for me. I found the beds to be comfortable and I saw no bugs. Trust me I HATE bugs and spot the little buggers from a mile away. I did not see any. I've heard the pool is small, but I didn't notice to be honest since we didn't have time to use it. I found the rooms to be spacious and one thing I really liked is that it was very quiet. We may have just been very lucky, but compared to other places I've stayed at, there was virtually no noise. The breakfast they offer is not so great, but we didn't care since we prefer to eat at Minnie's in the morning. I had absolutely no problem with them at all and we're looking forward to staying there again!

I have stayed at Desert Inn several times and never encountered bugs of any kind. Always found it to be clean and very close to the park entrance, a big plus with small kids. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

I stay at the Park Vue often. I was there in Feb and will be there again in Dec. I have never seen any bugs. I love how close it is to the park and the free breakfast is good.

We just spent 8 nights at Park Vue (we left yesterday) and it was really good - we would definitely stay there again without hesitation. Room was big, very comfy beds (and no sign of bugs!), great breakfast, social 'hour' (5-7pm) which saved us buying dinner most days, and soooo close to Disneyland! :cool1:

Social hour is when they have food set up in the breakfast room - something different each day (free :) ). One day we had chicken burgers, another tacos, hot dogs, pasta, enchiladas ... also there was always salad, chicken noodle soup, minestrone soup every day. It worked out great for us as we would usually go to the parks in the morning, pop back to the hotel for a quick swim or just a shower (it was HOT last week!), then grab something to eat on the way back to the park.

We hadn't expected it as we hadn't seen anything mentioned about it before, but it was a nice extra and saved us lots of money on dinner :)

What size room did you have? I heard their rooms are small, so I'm curious what you had. I am going to book any day. The more I hear, the more I think this hotel will work out.

I think they just started the social hour, plus the upgraded breakfast.

I have stayed at the Park Vue many times. No Bugs. I also have never heard of the "social hour". That sounds great. We usually request a room toward the back, to avoid noise. But, from what I have also found the rooms are larger in the back.:tink:

Thanks I chose Park Vue. The latest round of comments on trip advisor are great and we will be able to save some money on food which is a great help. Thanks for all the input!

NICE!!! Sounds like a nice money saver :) I'm staying at Park Vue for 7 nights on my coming up trip

Maybe the social hour is new?

We had the room with 2 queen beds, plenty of space. Our room was right at the back though, if that makes a difference? We passed by some of the queen + bunk bed rooms when the doors were open for cleaning, and they looked much smaller.

Go with Park Vue.
We stayed at Desert Inn last Summer and found dead bugs under the mattress and dirty sheets...gross!
The pool is tiny.

I was afraid of this. Dd saw the bunk bed room and went nuts! So, we booked it. Looking at the floor plan on the website, it seems like the 2 queens is quite a bit bigger.

We'd given our dd the choice of either bunk bed or having a 'big bed' for herself - she chose the queen, and when we saw the bunk bed rooms we were really pleased she had! If it worries you, it may be possible to change?

Well, we have two kids - so that usually means that we each sleep with a kid. My husband likes the idea of us actually sleeping together on a trip. lol

We spend so little time in the room, so I'm hoping it will be okay.

You made my day with the info about the light evening meal!!! I just reserved ParkVue for our Oct trip. I am on the barest bologna budget ever this time, squishing in a trip with all 5 of my kids (ages -12-25). We will be a little tight in a Queen/bunkbed/trundel room but we don't plan on being there much!

Thanks for the great tip!
