Blimey i was so busy budgeting for the accommodation/car/flight that I lost touch a bit with the park ticket prices. We will be staying off site 2015 - so i had a quick look on Attraction Tickets who I used in 2006, now looking at just under 1500 quid for 2 adults and 1 child for the unlimited disney/universal/seaworld 14 days/hopper... not going to Busch or lego but breaking it down into separate passes this one came out cheaper. i was only budgeting for 1K :( so that was a bit of a shock. Is there any other company more competitive?

Again another example of how expensive everything has got and of course we have DD to pay for this time round ;)

Plenty of time for us to save the extra glad I checked it now.

i'd say a major shock, not just a bit...

same thing happened to me this year...
i completely forgot about the tickets.....

what a shock!!!!!! :scared1: :scared1:

i bought three 14 day ultimates.....
now i just have to upgrade my AP to a PAP....not cheap either..

what can i say - it's a very expensive holiday!!

Hopefully you can save up the extra 500 as its two years away.

Don't forget to purchase them for the correct year, as undoubtedly ticket prices will increase again before 2015 and AFAIK you can only buy up to 2014 tickets at present. Which probably means rethinking your ticket budget again :rotfl:

On our first two trips we bought myw tickets for disney instead of the ultimates. We figured that with our universal and seaworld days we couldn't go to disney every day so counted how many we would manage and bought myw for them. We never park hopped so this was not an issue.
We also found it cheaper to add aquatica to our seaworld tickets to get a water park included . I think we bought 6 day passes ( but paid for 4 as the site we used had a special offer) . It definitely saved some money for us ;)

The first time I went with DD in 2008 I recall the tickets being about £170 or so each for 14 day ultimates. At the time my reaction was along the lines of :crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::faint: For park tickets?!

Now I recall those days and think .... If only! :rotfl2:

Perhaps you can work in a 20% increase over the 2 years as a safety buffer and divide up by a year or 18 months and just try set aside an instalment into a savings account every month towards the cost? That would make it feel more manageable.

thanks all - will look at all those options. Thanks Tiggie, we are saving each month at the moment and luckily saving more than we need so we will be ok, just glad i checked the prices now.....might also try DIY holiday instead of package to get that cost down, although at the moment that sounds a bit scarey. ;)

Sometimes packages offer you the best deal for what you're looking for. DIY has worked out much cheaper for us. It's not really that bad. The big thing is to get your flights sorted. Depending what you're booking, where, when and with whom, you can usually put a deposit only down on your accommodation and amend dates and length of stay to suit the best flights you find. I have adopted the habit of booking one night less than the least number of days we plan to stay so that when flights come out I can adjust accordingly and add the extra day or few days and have the amendment fee waived (policy varies from one company to the next but Disney do waive the fee if you increase the cost of your holiday). Lots of options, lots of folk on here who are really, really good at this so you'd have a great support base :goodvibes

:goodvibes thanks that's why i'm here :goodvibes 2 years to go and I'm already obsessed....I think DH already fed up of me talking about the different options, he will be the one smiling when I find the best deal :cool1:
