Park Reservation Timing - New Year's

We are staying at AKL over New Year's week. How soon do you recommend buying park tickets and making park reservations for the week around New Year's? No dates are currently blocked out past May but I didn't know if major holidays can fill up 6+ months in advance?

NYE 2021 in both MK and Epcot filled about mid-Oct 2021. Other Christmas Eve through New Year's dates did not start to disappear until November and filled for MK by about mid-Nov, while other parks were still open at that time

If you know what tickets you want (how many days, etc.), why wait? Ticket prices can only go up from here.
