Park Pet Peeves

This topic is a little depressing! Lol! I have to say that for every obnoxious, annoying person, there is usually someone that surprises us with politeness and good manners. We try to make friends and be polite. We have many memories of people giving us their unused fast passes, helping us with infomation, etc. You know, Disney Magic! I hope we have mostly those on our next trip! Lol![/QUOTE]

You are so right about that! We have met some of the nicest people while on vacation! It's just too bad the rude obnoxious ones stay in our minds the longest until we stop and think about it! :goodvibes

My biggest pet peeve isn't just for Disney: When did "Excuse Me" come to mean "Get out of my way right now or else!"? Drives me nuts!!!

I guess your just a better person eh?QUOTE]

No, I don't think I am a better person, nor have I claimed to be. I just feel that people shouldn't get all wound up about things they cannot control.

I don't get the opportunity to spend time with my children every day. I make the most out of each opportunity I have with them. I am not about to let something so trivial, that I have no control, stress me out and keep me from having a good time with my family.

Thank you Jennasis. Have a good day!

My biggest pet peeve is people crying and moaning about things that stress them out in the happiest place on earth. It seems like people need to learn how to deal with stress better. I don't care if the person in line or in front of me has a leash attached to the kid on his shoulders, pushing a stroller while riding an ECV and blowing smoke rings down Main Street. I am spending precious time with the ones I love, in the most magical place in the world. Don't sweat the small stuff, and your vacation will be much more enjoyable!

i think the worst one is people who go online to message boards to complain about their pet peeves :rotfl2:

Then why open a thread where people are discussing their pet peeves? Why not just pass it over instead? Seriously... what was the point?

Oh my God people! My peeve is people who can't even go to WDW without complaining. If I stop for a second to look at something at DISNEY WORLD and I annoy you and you let me know, I'm going to laugh my *** off. I'm done with this thread.

I'm having a little trouble with this one. To my knowledge a wheelchair will not get you front of the line anyplace unless it's MAW. So, the question is how does it get one to the front of the line when just about all, if not all, attractions are wheelchair and even "scooter" accessible?:confused3

Actually the only ride that I ever remember that had a special car for wheelchairs was World of Motion and that was a long, long time ago. Places like Universe of Energy has them but in this attraction front of the line, back of the line...all the same. Everyone goes together.

I fell one time while at WDW and sprained my ankle BAD! Couldn't put any weight on it. So I had to use a wheelchair for the rest of the trip. Didn't enjoy the pain but I did enjoy getting to the front of the line on many of the rides and always got the special front row seating for handicapped at the shows. Kind of felt bad though since I wasn't really handicapped, just hurt. This may have changed since then but that's what happened to me.

I don't get it. If you don't like threads like this, then why even open it?

Honestly, I think the thread is worth while b\c it gives us all a POV that we may not have been aware of previously.

I am not whining or complaining but rather looking for improvement opportunities. If Disney never took the initiative to improve, we may not have Magical Express, Fast Passes or othe items that make the experience magical.

Think of this thread as an informal survey.

I know having read some posts on here that i will keep them in mind when I am at the Parks.

The next thread that I start will be be about all of the good things....i.e, people letting mom's and elderly folks have their bus seat, letting a small child move in front of them to see their favorite character in a parade, etc.

:cool1:

I don't appreciate the PDA in line either. We had a couple sitting in front of us on the great movie ride in Aug. who were in full make out mode. :confused3

When we had a wheelcahir for my wife's 85 year old grandma, we routinely got escorted to the front of lines. It wasn't part of any nefarious scheme. We got her one b\c we knew she wouldn't have the stamina to walk 7 miles\day. I even said to a few CM's to just take her and my MIL and the rest of us would catch up inside but they always took our group of 10.

Welcome to the DIS.

Charming.

I have 3:

1. Smokers smoking outside of the smoking areas (or really in the smoking areas, but I suppose there isn't much I can do about that) and/or people who bring their kids into the smoking area so that they can smoke.

2. People who jump out of standby into the FP lane after the first ticket check, who get to the person who collects the passes and claim that they "lost theirs" in line when, we all know, they jumped out of the line to zip in with the FP crowd.

3. People who get bent out of shape about the bus... Having to wait for the bus, the line for the bus, standing on the bus, how the bus driver is driving the bus, how far the bus is from X, Y, and Z... Any and all of the above.

Some people have made some good points, We usually just ignore things that get our goat. We're there to enjoy ourselves so we don't let the little things bother us and just go on with our vacation.

Well, the stroller thing does drive me crazy, but it is hard to navigate DW sometimes. I just hate when someone is hitting me in the heals with their stroller in a crowd, thinking that will make it move. DUH!!

But, the worst is people who think that Disney is so magical, they can leave their sleeping baby in a covered stroller outside a ride by themselves!!! Yes, it does happen! I use to work at Disney and people all the time would say "well they are sleeping and we don't want to wake them, can we just leave them here to sleep, or over in stroller parking. The ride will only be 5 minutes right?" OMG people, I didn't know there were parents that bad out there. And to think the CMs are your personal baby sitter. I could just never do that. If you are afraid of missing something because your kid is sleeping... then 1) why are you a parent, and 2) why did you come to DW with kids!!

okay, enough ranting for now :confused3

OMG! Are you kidding me? I have never seen this and I can't believe people would actually leave their child unattended anywhere! That is insane!

While I genuinely try to stay positive, let me pause to have a little 'moment'--

-Line cutters would be my main peeve.
-People who insist on sitting in the middle of the theater even though the CMs tell them to move all the way over.
-People on bus not giving their seats to elderly, pregnant, or people holding young babies in their arms.
-Huge, rowdy tour groups. (classic Dis thread discussion :rotfl: )
-When people do not get that at CS cash registers that you are supposed to get on both sides of the CM. One lady tried to chew me out once thinking I was trying to cut in line. :sad2:
-Couples expressing lots of PDA. Take it back to your value, mod, or deluxe people! :rotfl: Often they can be seen a distance away while in line...their hand in the back jean pocket of their partner and vice versa. They may even be wearing matching shirts. ;)
