The day we are going to IOA it opens at 9:00. We have a character breakfast reserved at 9:00. Will they let us in a few minutes early to make our reservation time? If not, how late will we be factoring in the wait for the line to get in?

They almost always open the parks between 8:30 and 8:45. You could ask someone working the turnstiles when you get here. We have never ate at a charactor breakfast because it takes up such valuable touring time. The first 2 hours after the parks open are the best.

I've never seen them open the park early for breakfast people. During busy times, they usually open early, otherwise it's 9am. I think the character breakfast in IOA is at Confisco's, which is near the front on the park.

I agree that the first two hours are important to get that early bird start on the rides. You can tour the entire park getting walk on rides staying one step ahead of the crowd. By 11am, forget it, everyone is there and the lines are long. Of coarse, this doesn't matter too much if you are staying onsite and have UEPs.

Reviews of the character breakfast are mixed, depending on how much attention your kid gets. If your kid gets lots of attention and you take great pictures, then you'll be happy. If you get little attention and they forget about you (it's happened), then you'll walk out frustrated and say the food was bad and wasn't worth the money you paid. I'd say it could go either way.

Thanks for the info guys. I agree that we will be loosing crucial park touring time. However, DS6 would tell you, "Duh, don't you know that Spidey is REAL and all those other characters are just people in costumes?" :thumbsup2 He wont be 6 forever.
Thanks again.

We did the character breakfast a few years ago when they had a special day for AP holders only. It wasn't very crowded (may have been because it was only open to AP holders?) and my girls had a lot of fun. They got to see/interact with whatever characters they wanted. The reason I phrased it this way is because my middle DD wanted absolutely nothing to do with some of the characters, but couldn't get enough of Captain America. Go figure. I hope you enjoy the breakfast and kudos to you for not worrying about losing park time so your son can see Spidey.

We took our 4 year old DGS to the Spiderman breakfast last Sunday. The Cat in the Hat and Thing1 and Thing 2 were there in addition to Spiderman. It was wonderful! He got so much attention from Spiderman! We made lots of pictures with him. He came back to our table several times--even played tic-tac-toe with DGS. The other characters were good too, but Spiderman was the one he was interested in. DGS is convinced that he is the real Spiderman. The breakfast is at the Confisco--just inside the gate. The crowds were very light at the breakfast and in the park. The longest we ever waited for a ride was 30 min. We rode several rides over and over.
