Park Hours for AK Changing?

I thought I heard or read that the park hours for AK will change once EE opens....is this factual?

DAK is currently scheduled to remain open until 8 p.m. nightly during the week before and the week after Easter. Then it will return to its normal hours of anywhere from 5 to 7 p.m. From June 4 to July 1, it is slated to be open until 8 p.m. nightly. After that, closing will again be earlier.

Of course, all of this is subject to change at any time. The biggest potential problem I see with late hours at DAK is that it IS a zoo (in spite of commercials to the contrary). Night-time screamers on Everest will not be appreciated by the animals.

I heard the same rumor (don't remember where). I did just check out the WDW website and the hours at AK in April haven't changed from what they have been...

While I agree that AK is somewhat of a zoo, I could not image that animals over the entire park would be disturbed by one attraction.

Given that the screams from Everest can be heard throughout the park, it is possible that it could affect all the animals.

Since they knew EE was opening in April or there abouts when they posted the hours, I imagine they have already taken it into account for the hours that are posted. I don't expect the hours to change from what is posted because of EE. Now the posted hours might be different from the year before because of EE - I'm not going to take the time to compare. However, I don't remember it being open to 8pm on any regular basis before - so I think EE has caused the hours to be extended.

We are going in July and it is scheduled to be open until 7:00 p.m. and they have nighttime extra hours for one day a week which would make it 10:00 p.m. for one day. When we went in July of 2001 it was only open until 5:00 p.m., I noticed last summer it was open until 6:00 p.m. so yes they have extended the hours.
